I have just bought myself a new putter and am just wondering the forums views on length. my new putter is 34 inches long which feels right but was wondering what you think is better longer or shorter.

So how longs Yours and why do you like it like that ;)???

34" is working for me too, putting quite well with my new MD which is basically a Scotty but at a fraction of the price. Might be that it's covered in Shamrocks that Irish luck is rubbing off on me :), got 0.3 off the other night with some very steady putting.
Have been shorter this season (32 and 33") but the low hands style just ain't for me this season. 35" can get stuck in my waterproofs so is too long.
Sticking with 34".

Mine is 34".
I like to keep my arms straighter when putting. Seems to prevent too much hand movement in the stroke.

31" (and I grip it down)

Why? I don't think you need anything longer than that to hit the ball from 10 feet! :)

I used to feel cramped and too upright with a longer shaft, the swing would get 'wristy'. This helps my arms and shoulders remain connected.

42", just the right lenght to lean on properly. Also acts a a good swing aid when warming up due to the weight.

Do have a few putters though.

35", 34" and 33"

I guess I feel most comfortable with a 34" putter in all honesty. 33 just makes me feel like I'm a bit stooped and reaching for it. 35 makes me feel a bit too upright and a bit too far away from the ball.

Would prefer a 34 inch putter but the one I really got on with was only available in 35 (as most seem to be these days) so just grip down a bit.

34 or 35 im easy, but anything shorter i find i hunch over too much and it can hurt my lower back as i have an njury there from a previous sport.

Also find when i lean over to far my arms do some funky stuff and i try to take off like a funky chicken, 34/35 helps ,me keep arms locked where they need to be for consistant three putting .... bugger!

The pro who did my C/F said that 33"-34" was more often than not the final length of putter he fits. He said 35" putters were for lazy Americans with poor posture. Better shorter than longer i.m.o.
I putt well with my daughters "teenager-sized" putter too, just not long range.

Oh sorry were we talking putters. In that case 34" is just about right for me at 6' 2".

Spot on mate....I expect quite a lot of the 35" brigade would do well to take notice.
