Appologies if i've posted this in the wrong section! Basically i've made an online purchase from Snainton Golf. Recieved an email on the 18th July 2013 confirming delivery, but have yet to recieve anything! How long would you wait before cancelling the order??? I've rung up twice and have been told different things by different members of staff so dont have much confidence in them if am honest!!!

Snainton are usually excellent, have used them many times, so wouldnt overly panic. It can depend on what the item is whether they have it in stock or whether it comes direct from the manufacturer that can dictate delivery times (they should tell you if you ask). I know when Ive bought Galvin Green stuff from them its been over a week to deliver as comes direct from GG not from their own held stock as such. May be worth asking them if they physically hold stock of the item or whether they are relying on a manufacturer to fulfill the order and asking for a finite timescale as to when you will receive the order

they have one of the best reputations on here, I've used them quite a bit.

I did have one issue with last order and got similar stories from the staff, it turns out it wasnt in stock and they appeared to be buying time to get it in before despatching....allegedly.

I would call and asked for confirmation where the order is as its 8 days since it was despatched or delivered? not sure what you meant in that part of your post?

Then you can decide the best course of action

they are saying its been dispatched! but cant believe its taking so long. Will give it until Mon/Tues just frustrating when you order something for your next comp and then this happens !!!!

they are saying 2nd class recorded, dont have a tracking number. But have ordered from other sites like direct-golf and golfgeardirect and the item has always been there within 2 days max!

they are saying 2nd class recorded, .....

don't think this exists, even 1st class it's 'signed for' rather than recorded delivery now.

you (they) can get a certificate of postage on anything and, if things go wrong they can use that to make a claim against the mail service - but that's not your issue.

if they emailed you 18th that it was dispatched, the latest it went into the postal system was Fri 19th with delivery Tue/Wed most likely; Thu outside, Fri (today) being a rank outsider in the betting stakes!

if it was dispatched then...you say they have said different things (mind you you say they said 2nd class recorded....)

against all that I have to agree with other comments in that my dealings with them have been issue free.

Sounds like its royal mail and not snainton causing the delay, I have been having even first class packet and large envelopes take a week to arrive so second class could be ten days!

Well contacted the sales department and they said I should have it in the next couple of days! But earlier in the week they said definately by Friday ! so something isnt quite adding up here

I send out many items 2nd Class "signed for" small parcels and there is NO defined delivery time associated with that service. 2nd class simply means it will take 2nd fiddle to any 1st class deliveries in that area on any given day. As such, my small parcels can take 48hrs and even 7 working days dependent on the area.

They do get a tracking number as such with sending it that way so you can request it but in my experience it will only state when it was taken to the post office and it will say its in their (Royal Mails) system.

maybe my partner in the past has sold stuff on ebay 7000+ feedback and used royalmail never known an item to take so long!

I hoped you would post Robin - I know it's an area of expertise! I loked quickly at the RM services and they don't list 2nd signed for - I guess it's because they are pushing 1st signed for. I knew 'recorded delivery' had changed!

It was all changed as too many larger parcels were being sent through Royal Rail on the cheap rather than using Parcel Force or any other carrier company. As such everything is restricted by weight and size so you have a letter, large letter, small parcel, medium parcel and large parcel which all have size and weight restrictions.

A small parcel can be 45cm x 35cm x 8cm and only cost £3.70 2nd Class signed for and that's up to 2kilo's, good value for non- urgent items.

A large letter which a couple of gloves would fit into would cost £2.20 2nd class signed for and £2.30 1st Class signed, can't see why they couldn't have sent it 1st class for the sakes of 0.10p!

11 days on from the order still no sign, have been told its going to be resent via citilink. After all the great reviews i'd read before placing the order am very disappointed. Being told different stories no proof confirming it had actually been sent. Ah well you learn will goto my pro's shop next time and ask for a price match !

all golf shops are pretty useless im my experience. I doubt there is one shop mentioned on here that hasn't been slated!

it all boils down to not having the stock they say they do as mentioned earlier.

I always hear good things about Snaiton on here but I've used them once and had an issue with delivery, was told they'd chase it with the courier and was told id recieve it 2 days later which happened however the couriers label on my box was dated the day after I chased it so basically I got lied to, I cannot abide lies where retailers are concerned so i've never used them again.

funnily enough they lied to SWMBO about birthday presents for me that didnt arrive for my birthday, and after chasing...again...the missing items were despatched the next day. I also dont use them now due to lies!

Lie to me once, shame on you
Lie to me twice, shame on me
Honesty is always the best policy.......
