How long are you Par 3s?

"from the whites"

There is the 235 yard par three third, thats a bit of a monster to try and hit!
105 nice short one,
139 yards, uphill
206 yards to a green which slopes away from the tee box

then the back nice

176
138 downhill
163 over a bank so its blind ish
144 to finish

You missed out "over the poxy bomb crater". :D

They're a good mixed bag, need to reacquaint myself with them.

Six at Knole
from the whites
192, little uphill
180, up a very steep hill
184, down hill
171
198, si 6, tough hole, big green elephant buried in it, find the wrong spot and it’s very tough to two put
198 si 8, looks easier than it is, high part of the course and the crosswinds can make it very tricky.

1. 186
2. 156
11. 208
16. 153

In reality, all fairly straightforward. In practice...completely different

The white tee yardages from the card are
151
123 (slightly uphill though)
165
142
171 (also slightly uphill)

This is the best mix of 3s so far imo.

Not a fan of long par 3s much rather play a trickier par 3.

Ours 152 , 183, 175, 202, and 165. Off Whites.

I don't like to think about the crater, good way to describe it, if you want a real challenge play the temp green on that par three, its half way up the slope and about 8ft across.

188
174
150
177

Off the whites. shorter off the yellows. the 150 one is pretty handy. Just don't miss left or its a steep run off.

3. 184 (gently downhill)
6. 183 (level but with 140 carry over heather and gorse)
13. 168 (level but narrow green not visible behind cross bunker)
15. 208 (level but with split level green)

And all our greens are small. You are doing very well if you can par them all.

Biggest I 'play' is 255 into the ocean wind but that's the black tee and nobody plays there who wouldn't also wear white trousers and have their name on the bag

White tees are about 55 forward so this is what i really play :o (but still cant recall reaching it with anything other than driver!)

I think a course really benefits from having at least one short technical par 3 around the 100-120 range but they seem far less common than the 200+ yard'ers

Off the whites and converted to yards:

164
229
154

The longest one is a mosnter, even off the reds. I hit driver there and on a good day I can just reach the front of the green. The first one is a hybrid or a very well hit 5 iron for me (huge bunker in front of the elevated green, being short really not an option), the last one is a six or seven iron, depending on the flag position.

two shortish and two longer.

4th being the easyest at 160

hardest is prob the 6th which is close to 200 off the back tee, but usually into the wind and surrounded by deep pot bunkers.

Longest on the card is 14 which is 219 down hill, but front of the green is best miss as the flag is only ever on the ridge running across the green so a two put par is acceptable here

Royal Norwich GC

1st - 160ish 7 iron
7th - 125ish - wedge/9 iron
11th - 160ish - 8/7 iron (odd hole always seems to play shorter)
12th - 185ish - 4 iron.

2nd- 172 (uphill)
5th - 183 (massive green so really depends on the flag position)
11th - 148
14th - 166
