How good is your bunker play??

Strangely not bad, i tend to get out of them and don't fear them. I have been a little longer than usual of late and have been in a lot of bunkers at the back of greens.

Probably play them a little low and a little grabby.

Has improved considerably since we have had all our bunkers dug out and re-sanded. Lovely Cornish sand which is slightly gritty, and far removed from the builders sand we had before in some of our bunkers. When dry is almost white, and when wet it goes grey. Makes the course look so much better as well.

In comparison to my average playing mates, I would say my bunker play is good. Unless you get a really poor lie (downhill lie to a downhill green for example), I would expect to get out of a green-side bunker every time and have a shot at getting it within 15 feet.

I am also ok out of fairway bunkers, as long as I have an iron (6 iron or higher). Terrible with hybrids and low irons.

But I wouldn't say I am particularly good or great out of bunkers. I decided to spend some time learning a couple of years ago after I took two shots out of 4 bunkers during a round of golf with mates.

I reckon I'm a pretty decent bunker player - very rare the ball is left in there and always give myself a good chance of sinking the putt once out. I guess the one that is the struggle is the 40-60 yard bunker shot

I did have one round where I had two sandy birdies and also got up and down from every bunker I was in

You do get a lot of practice.;)

Can't wait for Paul to tell us how good he is out of fairway bunkers.

Much the same here although I can be pretty good when the mood takes me.....
We have 6 bunkers on the entire course!
Wnen we move my bunker play is going to have to get a lot better!

We have a minimum of 2 green side bunkers on every hole. Loads of fairway ones too. Must count them one day. A lot of them are deep pot bunkers too.

where you been playing, only bunkers at backs of ours at 9,10 and 18 ????

I can normally get out of the ones that aren't revetted but don't have much control over where the ball goes, getting better at playing out of revetted ones too

I think we 127 bunkers on the course all pot bunkers one hole has 10 bunkers on it and a couple with 9.

Awful, especially at this time of the year. When the sand is wet, I either blade the ball to who knows where, because I slide over the sand, or I dig into the sand (well, mud) and more or less get stuck without moving the ball much at all. With nice fluffy sand I am normally okay-ish ... meaning I at least get the ball out and somewhere onto the green, usually, which is all I can ask for at my handicap level.

Astonishingly average. I can hit some great bunker shots, and I can hit some poor ones. I'm not trying to get it to within 6 inches everytime, but a couple of feet would be nice!

I am average. I rarely leave it in the bunker although distance control is an issue especially if it's over 15 yards. However according to Scoresaver I'm averaging 24% this season in sand saves so off 14 it is heading the right way. The linear method has definitely helped

Rammel, absolute Rammel, ave asked the kids for a bunker lesson for Christmas off Santa.
cannot understand how pros would sooner play a shot out of a bunker than grass. Big heads 😠

Pretty damn good, not Tour player standard, but as a handicap golfer it's pretty damn good. Silly thing is my chipping around the green has never been a strong point, I'm better off being in an 8 foot deep pot bunker than having a flop shot around the green.

My most hated phrase in golf is "well out" when you just manage to get it out and it isn't within tap in range.
