As the title says really. How do you get paid if you win a competition at your club.

At my old place it used to be cash in an envelope. Then just as I left they changed this to pro-shop credit.

I've just won my first competition and am waiting for my winnings and sweep, and have no idea how they pay at my new club. So was just wondering what everyone else gets.

Congrats on the ESR cut single figures after one comp well played that man!

Our winnings are credited to our membership swipe cards to spend in the pro shop,

enjoy! :)

all goes on 'club card' for use in pro shop or bar since the rule change Jan this year.

for major events with larger 'purses' there are retail vouchers issued on major stores.

we don't do sweeps - but they aren't prizes and would probably be distributed in cash.

Ours breaks down like this:

Winnings - Money on account in Pro Shop
Sweep - Cash behind the bar
2's - Money on account in Pro Shop

I've got a horrible feeling ours is credit behind the bar. Which I really don't want. I was looking forward to a nice bit of pro-shop credit so the Mrs can't argue about me buying golf stuff :-)

We get vouchers for the pro shop. I've won £70 the other day, and it's valid for 6 months.

pro shop credit, but cant be used on sale items or special offers!!!! rip off really as the money goes into the pros account and not the clubs.

cash only.

our comps cost £2 to enter and that includes 50p towards the sweep. sweep pays 1st,2nd and 3rd, remaining monies go towards prize money on presentation night iirc

Normally M&S vouchers, but strangely for our Open, John Lewis vouchers.

What is it with ladies opens?

Last year I got a prize at one and it was SGU vouchers which was great - I can buy golf stuff from a huge variety of places.

This year I've won two prizes and got M&S vouchers for both. Do I look like somebody's granny?
