• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

How does your Club allocate 2's

one pot at ours, we usually only get about 60 in a comp, so no need to split.

what i did find interesting at ours is not everyone puts into the 2' and sweep.... tight buggers.

Last year in a comp, i was the only player to get a 2, nice i thought esp as there were 54 entries, only got £34, so twenty didn't put in.... disgraceful:(

Why is it a disgrace ? Surely it's their choice to enter the twos pot or not.

Why is it disgraceful? It's their choice to put in or not. Besides, if they all entered and one of them got a 2 as well, you'd have only got £27 so they may have done you a favour.

Ours is split into two categories.
Up to 11, I think and everyone above that.
There are only two par threes at our course and pretty much every week the first class guys get less than the second class ones.
It's not unusual for the second class one to roll over.

one 2's pot, however the pot is shared with the other players in the group, if not won it rolls over to the following week with 2 par 3's in play carry's on like this until it is won.

Why should it be split into divisions if it is voluntary to enter? If you don't think you are likely to get one then don't bother entering?

Is the right answer. I don't enter anymore. I used to at my first club but the one week I decided against it was the first week I got one. Since then it's become a bit of a superstition thing and I'd rather have the birdie than a bit of cash. It's not like I'm prolific on the birdie front so I doubt I'm losing out financially anyway.
