Mark your ball.

After the club AGM they decided that ALL balls (in competition play) must now be marked. Having been a bit lacks on it for the last few seasons.

I normally put a blue dot above the "S" on my Srixon AD333

Just curious to see what everyone else's preferance is.

:)

A black dot either side of Titleist (on both sides of the ball).

i have one of the lines for putting and a small dot of blue or green to the right hand side of the titleist on the ball

Just write my initials on the ball, how boring!

May need to come up with something more creative going by some of the responses!

single black dot to the right of the number

Apparently that is the 2nd most common marking...................behind a single RED dot to the right of the number.

Wonder what the odds are of an argument out on course with 2 people in the same area with those markings??

So how are the club going to impliment this ?

In the RoG this is covered as a 'should' rather than a 'must' ;)

Blue dot with a green ring around it on the upper right side of the number for both numbers. Looks pretty nifty and stands out really well. Even if the green or blue fades a little it still looks distinctive (just look for essence of green halo).

Plus my balls have my initial and name printed on the side opposite the aligntment line (2 boxes for xmas and I love them!)

Normally 4 orange dots, one each end of the name, one above the name and one below the number, do this on both sides. Whats scary is last week i found a ball on a course ive not played in over a year, and found a ball marked idetical to mine, same srixon AD333 #2 with 8 orange dots. Looks like i got to hit the drawing board with a new idea.

each ball differently usually dots ,different places different colours

i carry 8 different colour mini-sharpies

so i could identify/mark each of my ball individually (if theyre the same #)

if i were to mark each the same everytime i could lose one on one hole if the next comes back the other way hit it the same place and possibly find the first ball and mistakenly play that one

I have 3 different coloured pens, so whenever I buy a box of balls I mark each ball in a sleeve of same numbered balls with the 3 different colours so I have 12 different marking and ball no. combinations.

I used to put a single dot below the number on each side but got lazy with the last box and just put my initials on.
