How did you get on this weekend?

Played 12 on Firday before the rain came in 22 points and was poor off the tee.

Then Saturday got 18 in, 34 points with a blob. I missed to greens with 9 iron in my hand, scrambled a bogey on one and blobbed the second. Putted pretty poorly by my standards so very happy with my score. Good enough for third place and getting my money back :D

Sunday fitted for a new driver, actually looking forward to going to the range for a change :P

Gross 79 (Par 70), and with a quadruple bogey 8 on the Par 4 2nd and a 3 off the tee on the Par 5 9th leading to a double bogey 7, well happy with a gross 79. Not bad for a 19 handicapper

Awful! 21 points on Saturday with 7 no scores. I could not do anything of any note with my putter or wedges. Sunday played better but still badly. 24 points from 13 holes including a net hole in one on our 2nd hardest hole thanks to 35ft putt.

9 over at caldy. 3 over out. missed short putts on 7,8 and 9 that could have made it a very good day. my back started to go during the back 9. was lucky to get the full round in tbh!

oh and a gps failure on the 11th. not good around a new course. :mmm:

really nice track though. lots of variety in the holes!

Had a social game on Saturday at Heritage GC but struggled with distance putting (as usual on that course) 3-putts galore as I just cant read their greens compared to the others I play

10 minute downpour, sunshine the rest of the time but a bit too hot

If Carling did Sundays..............

Had to tee off at 07:00 in the swindle as I was invited to the Wembley cup final courtesy of the Centurion and we were leaving the club at 10:30.

Played probably the best golf in a very long time. I'm currently leading the Order of Merit and my Swindle handicap is 3.8 so very tough to keep scoring well, but I was level gross after 6 and 2 ahead of H/C.
Slight blips at 7,8,9 where I hit good approach shots but just missed the green led to 3 bogies so closed the front 9 on 17.

Immediate birdie on 10, then all pars except for a bogie on a shot hole, so still only 3 over going down the last......only had 150 into the green but somehow let one slide and ended up plugged and below my feet in the green side bunker pin high.
My only blob of the day and the only cloud on a very good card. Felt pretty much in control all the way round.

35 points was still enough to take the win and extend my lead in the OOM, but copped a 1.5 shot cut, so now off 2.3 in the swindle...:o

It's going to be hard to keep my nose in front off that H/C, but golf is in a very happy place right now. Just need to do the same in the club qualifier Sunday where I get an additional 4 shots.....should be a doddle...

Wembley was amazing..... hospitality in the Bobby Moore suite with amazing seats. Ray Clemence was on our table and was a great host.

The match was exciting and the quality of goals incredible. I could have done without the last one as I had a man City 2-1 bet on it....
managed to shake hands with most of the City team after they collected their medals we were that close to them......

Superb weekend!!

+10 out due to mental conditions... Well Im blaming them anyway :) and had a bit of a chat with myself on the 10th tee... Came home level par Gross for the back 9 with 2 bogie 2 birdies and he rest pars for an 81 and 35 points..

Very happy with my mindset and determination on the back 9 and hit some super shots...

Hehe, same as me then.... Dont think I was +10 going out though.

My putting on the front 9 was scandalous pal... Numb hands caused by hail rain and sleet pal with high winds didn't exactly help either.... I was close to heading for a cuppa at the half way stop..... Im no good if my hands get cold... Might as well be swinging an axe... :)

Monthly stableford for me, course in great shape and the weather was glorious. 35pts with 2 really annoying blobs.

Played with wookie, his first competitive round since he joined, think he enjoyed it as well :)

I was just asleep, forgot I had become quite good and was just being too quick on the way back. Soon as I remembered that I can play golf I was on fire. The sun was blazing and we played in T shirts!

Played in the winter knockout semi final on Staurdya in glorious perfect conditions - course looked good except for the one temp.

Just 6 shots to give away and I got off to a hot start to go up early - holed a 12 footer to go 2under and 4 up after 6 and pretty much stayed there all the way in, finishing 4&3.

First bit of cash for the year secured, now to turn it into a winner rather than R/Up :)

Suffering from a bad back at the moment but decided to play Saturday and Sunday anyway (Tiger is a wimp). Couldn't put a full swing on it on Saturday so just chipped it around the course but still managed to finish 2up in the par comp. The back was feeling a bit looser on the sunday so I could swing a bit easier but still not quite right and ended up with 29 points. My brother on the other hand was playing in his first ever 2 comps after putting his 3 cards in. He was given a first ever handicap of 21 and also finished 2 up on the Saturday but put his mask and sombrero on for the sunday to shoot 48 points!

Played in the monthly Stableford on Saturday in lovely sunshine.

Thanks to the Greens Team at Beaconsfield for presenting a course in such good condition given the weather we have had.

Very different for the 2 days of the weekend.

Last week was a disaster. Had not played for 7 weeks, went straight into a stapleford comp and came out with 24 points and I sunk some big putts for that score. Everything felt wrong, the swing was awful and there were fats, thins, tops, shanks the lot. I put that to one side as a result of the time off and went out on Saturday, it was worse. It was so bad and was frustrating me so much that I asked my playing partners if they minded if I stopped after 9 holes (it was only a friendly knock). I have never felt like that before.

Anyway, I had entered the comp on Sunday so turned up with some trepidation. I gave up my normal caffeine based warm up (I have quit the other part of my warm up, the Marlboro light) and spent 20 minutes in the nets trying to get a swing working. It must have worked as I was happy with my score around the 30 point mark. I had some hard luck in there and a couple of blobs so the rest of the round was about to my new lower handicap. At least I have some confidence back for next week.
