How did you get on this weekend?

Course closed yesterday so watch the rain come down, closed today , roll up cancelled , nuff said

Played two balls over 7 holes - my first golf since mid-Dec. Still pretty bad flooding here and there but elsewhere pretty good underfoot - course through the green looks well winter-weary - but it'll recover. Greens good.

Golf actually not too bad though as I stood over the ball on the 1st tee I was thinking to myself 'now last year I had sorted out some good thoughts when addressing - now what were they - I can't remember - it's so long since I hit a ball'

Took a few hits then it came back 'plane - pause' (that's what I think)

Bucketed down yesterday afternoon and evening and raining again today :(

Played winter league final on Saturday , i play the singles match , should have been playing the club captain but they changed their team around so i ended up playing a guy off 14 giving 7 shots .. Won on the 15th ..

didnt do them any good dropping the captain down a place ,our ex captain walked him in off 14 .. .. we won d final

Sunday i got the biggest wetting i think i have ever gotten on a golf course , wasnt playing great but chap i was playing with was , he bogeyed 17 and shot level par in wind , cold & rain ...

ive never been so cold or wet on a golf course , if i was at home & HiD asked me to go out to the car and get something id tell her no way ha ha

First Game on Sat for a couple of weeks due to a shoulder injury and not touched a club in that time.

Hit the ball pretty well 2 over gross, and could have been so much better didn't sink a thing only birdies were the two par 5'son the back 9 i reached in two.

Went out fo a few holes yesterday afternoon, played 2 balls from the tee and played the worse one. Hit the ball as well as i ever have and still shot level par, but the course was playing very easy with not much wind

Comp was cancelled because of the rain Thursday and Friday so played the front nine twice. I played well on the front nine, hit a lot of greens and fairways but my putting stank. The greens were a little slow and bobbly but I also didn't putt well. I had 3 x 3-putt bogeys which was annoying but I hit the ball great.

After the 45 minute wait to get back on the first tee for the 2nd nine I lost a bit of interest and because it was so busy we waited on each hole and I got a bit bored. Ended up with 29 points. Hopefully that's the last time we have to play the front nine twice as it's getting a bit tedious.

Playing early Sunday morning, course was it good condition. Ok front 9 of 16 points. Wheels came off a bit over the back 9. Finished with 31 so average round really. Good to work on my short game. Missing the green from 125 is not good at all!

Some silly scores I heard in our Saturday roll up - won with 47 points. But bear in mind our stroke 1 par 5 has been reduced to a par 3 due to course conditions. So if you get 2 shots on it and get a gross 'birdie' 2 thats a net zero and 7points :)

Saturday, 34 points not a blob on the card, finally birdied 15 (only the 9th left to go now) in the middle of a 3 hole birdie run, but for a run of 4 missed greens from 6-9 resulting in 1 pointers and a penalty for the ball moving after address on 12 I was pretty happy!

KOK Central at Kenilworth on Saturday came in 8 over as I struggled around the greens with poor chipping. Played a round that i hadn't planned at Brandon Wood yesterday which was only 17 holes but I came in with 36 points and played far better especially considering I started with 9 on the par 4 second.

Didn't bother playing as the comp was cancelled. Hit the practice ground yesterday to find a new little slice had arrived. Annoying. Chipped and putted and that side of things showing some progress. Need to get out and play now.

Won my first round match in the country scratch knockout 6&5 on Saturday. Didn't do anything overly special but parred holes 7-13 after he made some early mistakes which meant that I was hard to beat.

Yesterday I played in the first qualifying comp of the year for me. Missed two shortish putts early on which knocked my confidence and had a bit of a run in with one of the old boys who was holding up the course, messing around which got me a bit worked up (poor mentally from me though). Managed to get it round in 78 for 34 points which meant that I at least didn't go up .1 and wasn't too bad considering how bad and wet the rough was (with no relief other than plugs/casual water). Still felt I could have shot 73/74 without doing much differently.

Had a lesson last night where we talked about some mental things after being a bit poor in this department earlier in the day and worked on some putting drills to make sure I get the ball started on my chosen line with confidence.

played with the Chompers at Caldy, played pretty well although my usually reliable 3 wood misfired a few times, but played under my handicap.

Dunbar yesterday, played well tee-to-green but was horrendous once on the greens... couldn't read the lines, couldn't get the pace right all day.. 46 putts in the end, culminating in a 4-putt at the last after missing a 3-footer.:mmm:

Did 5,6,7,8,9 on our 9 hole course (twice). Great to walk round as I have not been out in ages. It was very wet in parts though, and probably why the place was deserted. Went OK, and I was able to practice my approach shots on a couple of them.

We had a committee meeting in the afternoon at our place and I believe they thought if they did not open no one would come. It should not have been open really but there was no puddles as such, just splash on every foot step. However Saturday was GLORIOUS and it was amassing to be out there!

I played a little match against my bro as always. He went two up on the first two holes and I struggled to beat it back to one and back to two. I then remembered how to play golf and played 11 holes to scratch and ending up beating him by 3 holes.... Back 9 in 37 (it was actually the front 9 and we started on 10). A little frustrated not to birdie the last but tried not to let it spoil my happiness.
