how did you choose your clubs?

Had a go with a few demo clubs at a local shop including some that were kicking about from previous years. Liked the Callaways and had a look on ebay (shop couldn't get any as they were a couple of years out of date) and got a bargain set for £70 notes including postage when most sets were about £150 plus. I was and am one happy bunny.
Looking to get a fitted set for my 40th in July and will be trying as many clubs as possible.

through trying different clubs on flightscope and being told what suits me
I went determined to come out with I20's, came out with burner 2.0's and £200 better off.

I thought, "Hmmm. Mizuno look a good brand, according to reviews MX-23 are around my skill level and can be had for a reasonable price second hand".

Then I watched ebay until I won a set in my price bracket, not the best way of doing things but hey, they work alright for me.

Drove into a golf club car park, broke into the first car and ended up with a lovely set of Orka's :whoo:

How unlucky is that of all the cars in the golf club car park you could have chosen and you end up with a set of worthless bats!

Take the boy out of Greenock but can't take Greenock out of the boy!!!

;) :whoo:

Narrowed it down to a shortlist of the ones I liked the looks of (aesthetics is important to me). Hit them all on the range. Picked my favourites and bought them. Ii did use Trackman, but I prefer to judge on feel, flight and visible dispersion.....

I was at the range happy with the Nike irons I had but they had a Cobra demo day on and got a go with all different irons on flight scope for free and just hit the ones they spec'd up for me so well.

First set of irons because my two favourite golfers: Fred couples and Ernie Els used them, - Lynx Parralax
Probably not the best criterea but i was only 15 at the time and didn't know any better

About 10 years later i had a go with my local pro's Mizuno's, felt fantastic...

Now i'm a devote Mizuno fan boy

I was in our pro shop and picked up a TM CB 8 iron off the shelf. I had Ping G20's at the time and TBH they looked like big thick lumps at the side of the TM's. I like many love good looking players irons but the pro assured me I could handle them with ease so I sold the Pings and am happy with my TM's
