just curious as to what people go for when picking a set of clubs, in regard to brand price looks etc and how would you define a "good" set

I tried out 4 sets at the range within my price range. Managed to narrow it down to 2 sets, callaway X22's and Cleveland CG16's. both were quality clubs and in the end I went for the callaways. They were both as good as each other though

in 2011 I went to Luton Hoo for a Help4 Heroes day, Orka donated a set of players clubs for the auction, they looked awesome. Read and heard good reviews and also had good reports from fellow forumers who had used the services of the sales director. I went for a fitting, liked what I saw and haven't looked back since.

I decided I wanted a set of MP63's after hitting a demo 6 iron a long long time before I actually got mine. Actually it was more of a pipe dream to be honest.

What attracted me to them? How they looked. How they played. How they felt when struck. To me they seemed the complete package.

Then I had a bit of a windfall and decided , why not.

I went and got fitted for them and haven't looked back.

I was advised my ball striking was good enough for forged and I've always liked the look of titleist gear. Although I am partial to cobra. Price wasn't a concern because they are something I use a great deal.

not enough ;)

nah we got plenty & some. I havent got this months mag, will have to go and get it now.

Thats 2 appearances in a row for you isn't it? I was really jealous of you when I read it but its a prime example of the phrase "you've gotta be in it to win it"

Tried what felt like a hundred different sets and filtered them as I went though trying pw & 7i. Eventually narrowed it down to my callaways and set of Cleveland. Then a big dent in the pocket! It was for my 30th so felt like treating myself.

I hit loads of different demo clubs , then got customs fitted the mp53 stats were better than the jpx800 stats

Although at the moment I could do with the bit of assistance from a game improvement iron

I used to buy into the whole game improvement super game improvement hype but for me i play my clubs because i know im good enough to use them......
I prefer a small head on Irons....They are forged although i dont buy into the whole forged non forged argument either....Iv hit cast clubs that feel every bit as good as forged ones....

In my opinion if you were to categorize irons then you could argue the point that you wont get anymore game improvement than a muscle back a players cavity back or a blade for that matter.... They will make you change to be able to hit them....Ok it might take a bit longer but it feels more rewarding...
