And I agree with that - most handicap secretaries do that.

golf is a game for anyone. anyone can play. to compete regardless of ability is I believe an oxymoron.

competing - you are talking about taking part. I am talking about actually competing in the competition.

And my point is still the same - people should be able to take part in competitions if they have an official handicap, that IMO is the fairest way to sort out who can and can't play in comps.

grand, I will agree as long as the 28 handicaps are not handed out willy nilly. today is the first time ive heard of someone being refused a 28 handicap.

I have tried to stay away from this I.... BUT
After playing today with someone who has posted on this thread.... (no names but he is from Ireland and may be from Derry) and watching him reload on the first tee. Then go blob blob I thought it was worth a post as he then went on to get beat by a hacker... Admittedly Liverbiridie had 3 chip ins. TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY I also beat him.
To top it all this person also reminded me of a thread he posted a while ago saying every one should start with an 18 handicap to stop bandits....

I really hate golfers that waste everyone's time by doing superfluous things
Like marking their balls on the green and lining up putts
That's within the rules (just like looking for your ball is), wastes a lot of time, holds up the group behind
Woe betide anyone that plays in a comp with me who wastes my time doing stuff like that - I'll report you to the committee and make sure you don't get to play in comps again ! It's not that it's illegal or anything, but it REALLY affects my game,

reload on first. found both balls. blobbed the 1st due to over hitting the 2nd shot and some poor chipping. I got a point at the 2nd. please try to keep up

the only reason I hooked those first tee shots was trying the lateral hip movement that is being discussed in the ask the experts section. im blaming that lot!!

Saying u blobed 2 sounds better though... Yeah u did find both balls after a lot of time looking for them... Then if I remember rightly had to seek advice about your second shot and it's landing position as you were not watching it!

yeah I had to seek advice due to playing a low cut around the tree, over the water straight into the low sun that just carried the green. caught it slightly too well. if you had been watching you might have learned something!
