Shot an 11 on a par 5 last week and a 10 on a par 4 in the same round, and i play off 6!!!

Only matters how you come back from it, laugh, forget it then move on

The other week on a par 3 180 yards I ended up in the greenside bunker only to thin the second out of it over the green into the other greenside bunker, then it went from bad to worse, 3 failed attempts to get out and having to go sideways out and then three putt!! Lucky for me it was a hcp card and only counted as 5 when marked.

I've never shot an 11 on any hole*. And I have not yet broken 100.

*in the interests of speed of play my mates and I decided long ago to mark the card 10 and pick up the ball!

Obviously I/we wouldn't do that if we were members somewhere and playing a comp or with others.

12 on a par 4 is my PB in competition. Failed to extract myself from the bushes, of course should have taken a penalty drop. Once I'd made that mistake I was stuck in the broom bushes as my relief options were nil.
Got a good cut that day though as the 12 went to a 6 for handicapping with the adjusted stablefored scoring and I bagged a hatful of birdies after the 12 as the pressure was off.

I played Whittlebury Manor for the first time about 2 years ago in a 36 hole tournament.
About the 5th in the morning, I hit 3 wood for safety down the middle of a sloping fairway, kicked right into a bunker up against the lip. My first attempt caught the lip, came back and hit my shoulder, fell into my footprint. Second attempt still in, 3rd shot just out, next through the back chipped on and missed the putt, all from what I thought was a perfect 3 wood safety shot. How many was that?
I shot 71 (-1) in the afternoon though :)

I love it that we've all got these tales of woe , sort of makes you smile and chuckle knowingly.

A few years back when I was off 4 I took 13 on a par 4 and didnt lose a ball either. Did have some massive errors in judgement though as i was seen hacking my way through waste high rough refusing to accept the fact I wasnt going to get it out. I've let it go though....grrrr , snarl , bl**dy grabby rough ;)

I shot a 9 on a relatively easy par 4 during the week. Only blemish on an otherwide decent 9 holes. Its a stupid game mate, a stupid game.
