Homeward Bound

Incidentally, you won't be waiting in an empty house. A delivery arrives, it will be boxed and left with you. You will have to get it out yourself, unpack, perhaps assemble and then have to dispose of the packaging. Don't underestimate the amount of unpacking, the bulk of it all, and assembling you will need to do.

Yeah I know it'll be like this
But sods law says TV will arrive 7am day 1 and bed frame 11pm day 2 when we need to move in day 3 (& mattress is delivered wrong size) oh the joys we have to look forward to :giggle:

Be aware of delivery times, they can vary massively, especially on things like beds and furniture.

yeah that concerns me, we obviously wont get keys till back in UK and must get bed etc within 2 days of that date (but I bet if I order a bed, telly & wash machine now, there's no way it'll let me choose a del date for all three together in 7 weeks time)

Local independent stores are more likely to do this. Any Euronics stores where you are moing to?

Whilst I have 6 days entertaining the kids. And with some input from Missis T. Ikea and Dunelm is your friend. Another good shout is Matalan. Even the larger Tesco.
One day me and missis T were in Dunelm. A woman was in front of us with her pal. They had two trolleys overflowing with stuff. Having nattered to them. She had split from Her husband and was kitting the house out with new. Over £300 spent 😁👍

Do you know the layout of the new place?
Do you know if a 3 seater sofa fits nicely or a couple of smaller sofas work better?

Greig might well be able to put you right on local places.

The Range could also be worth a look for you.

And of course DFS, I think they probably have a sale on but it must end bank holiday Monday

Tash I hope you asked the Wife’s permission before posting pics of her? 🤣🤣

Thanks , yeah there seems to be a couple of stores. Website says most stuff (I'm looking at) is out of stock but that could change next week i guess (or its just a bunch of listing to attract web traffic and they'll never have the stuff)

More and more I'm seeing websites listing stuff they don't have... or worse still selling through 3rd party company i.e tesco B&Q etc have loads of stock but its not tesco/B& Q selling it, they're just taking a cut for listing somone elses stock under the tesco/b&q banner

Yeah we have layout/room sizes. I can't overstate how compact it is so 2 seater and chair will be the option. But as 1 bed cottage goes it'll do us perfectly for a year or so
(at some point I'll reveal its massive attraction for us, but saving that for another day)

Overlooking a golf course? 100 metres from a golf course?

Nope, don't say anything. Build up the tension 👍🫣

just on this, yeah I figured as much
I've already ordered the cordless drill/driver and basic toolkits I'll need for home/car diy etc, luckily these are small enough to send to relies house without taking up too much space, they already have several bits inc my new golf bag/shoes and my wife's new set of clubs (but sending them a wooden bed & TV etc would be taking the proverbial) :p

If it’s not going to be long term I would suggest cheap options.
IKEA or similar probably your best bet.

I’m loving the suspense.
Are you going to be the new starter at St Andrews?

If that is it I have always liked you ❤️
