Holidays 2021

We had booked to go to the Dominican Republic in May and paid for it in full some time ago. I cancelled it a while back, lost £500.00 but got the rest back almost immediately.
We were also due to go to France for a week in July, but this has just been cancelled by the lake owner as she wants to carry out a lot of work on the property and lake which would have coincided with our visit. So this has now been pushed back to June 2022.
So 2021 is looking pretty bleak. No plans at all now.
I'm browsing brochures on Yorkshire cottages, maybe looking to go somewhere up there for a bit of peace and quiet for a week where I can take my golf clubs AND my fishing gear.

I rescheduled our 2 holidays from this year to next. Algarve in April, getting less confident that will go ahead.
More hopeful that we will make Madeira in July.?

Not especially concerned as regards booking then possibly having to cancel - but we've decided we'll be "health cautious" and not bother looking/booking until after we've both been vaccinated. After that, we'll see. But, having said that, we've had to cancel a month in Spain over the coming Christmas period. Rather than wait, we'll try to rebook that for next Christmas as soon as the property becomes available. (Anticipating we'll be out of the mire by then??).

We were planning on booking a week in Rhodes in May - cover cases are very low there and it was an amazing deal, with private pool etc, so minimising contact with others. However, between booking and confirmation, the price rocketed so we have pulled out. Don't think we will look at anything else now until much later in the year. Its the flight that puts me off really. Once you are at the destination at least you can be careful and not take any undue risks, even if it has calmed down a bit by then with vaccines being rolled out.

Missis T and her sister had booked a holiday in Rhodes ( Sept/Oct) they happened to fall in between the lockdowns. Original flight was from Birmingham. TUi cancelled the holiday and said they can have £500 each towards another holiday. She booked the same holiday, same day from East Midlands with worse flight times. The holiday had gone up £650 each. For a weeks holiday.?

We're booking somewhere in the UK in June and hoping to go to Lake Garda in September. Can't see that happening though. Even if things improve we aren't interested in going abroad if you have to wear masks all the time. Compromised trips abroad are not for us.

Can’t see me going abroad for a by the pool holiday either if there’s any restrictions. A golf holiday will be booked for sept once we know more.
Have 4 wet and windy weeks away on home turf booked so far for next year.

Got two trips to Scotland, one in April, one in May.

Got a week in Pinehurst booked for September next year.

My wife and I cancelled a short break in Spain in June this year. We took a voucher, re-booked for June 2021 and moved the flights.

It’s cost me nothing, and the whole lot can be moved again if Covid is still in the way. To be honest, whilst it wouldn’t surprise me if we can’t go, in the meantime it’s nice to have something to look forward to. It’s not having these treats to look forward to which I have found most difficult this year.

As for our main holiday with the kids, our plans remain just that. Plans only. We won’t be booking anything just yet.

Probably have a family break here in the UK sometime August/September. Dont see much improvement in the Covid situation that would give the wife enough confidence to sit on a plane for several hours so a foreign holiday is looking highly unlikely. I'm off up to Scotland for a weeks golf in Moray in July.

Still looking to got money back from our lads trip to Turkey earlier this year....now taking the company to court.

If you fancy Devon/Cornwall Border Smiffy try here www.millfarmdevon.co.uk 3 nice lake side lodges. Place is hardly fished at all and well stocked... Bude, RND, Saunton, Holsworthy golf courses in easy reach. Stayed here in Sept, going back next June. Not the cheapest, but very good fishing and accommodation, Great pub within 5 mins walk

Feb - 8 days in Lanzarote (was supposed to be Italy last Aug).
Aug - 14 days in Lanzarote again.

The Feb one could get kicked down the road again.

That sounds just like what we want .
Might have a look.(y)

Our trip of a lifetime to the Galapagos was booked in 2019 and was supposed to be in June this year.
It's been rescheduled for June 2021. Will it happen? Who knows?

We also have a skiing trip to Austria booked for end of Jan 2021.
Chances are it will have to be cancelled, and I'd really like Crystal to get off their backsides and do so sooner rather than later.
