The past captain at my club has had 17 !!! Plays off about 5, but it does seem very greedy to me. Friend of mine got his hole in one at an HSBC employees golf day. Over 150 were playing, and it cost him an absolute fortune.

I never had one drop in...I've had my ball lip out, horse shoe back and one even plug in the back edge of the lip.

Played golf from 12-19 and got back into it seriously two years ago at 25.
Came close when I was a junior and last season hit the pin on the second bounce and the ball finished under an inch from the hole. I could barely face pulling my putter out my bag to knock it in.
It will happen.
As Mr. Palmer said "the more I practice the luckier I get" so I will continue to practice!

had on stop just on the lip of the hole. was so frustrating knowing that if i had off teed up an inch closer to the hole it was in. daaaammmmmmmmmmmm !!!

I had one in my first year of playing and the players teeing off on the next hole shouted down to me it had gone in as I couldn't see from where I was. Daniel Chopra got two hole in ones in one round on the PGA tour at Peeble beach albeit on a practice day !!
Been playing over 20 years and never had a hole in one,came closest twice in 1995 in the same round!!, first one looked like going in and ended up right round the back of the hole on the lip,second JUST ran out of steam tracking right on line with the hole.I have witnessed an albatross thou whilst caddying in the European seniors at Stoke-by-Nayland.Seniors tour player Tony Charnley was in our group and dumped the ball in the hole in two on a long par five.

Last Sept got my 1st proper Ace, 6th hole at Wallasey, though I did get one on pitch and putt yrs ago:fore:
This year I'm going to enter the 2's sweep every week and see if the enticement of a few quid for birdie might entice the ball near enough to lose its balance and topple in for that elusive ace.

Sorry, had my first after playing 2 or 3 years (off of 21). Had a further 'half' a hole in one (winter green) 3 years ago (Off 20). Playing for 13 or 14 years. So much luck involved. To be honest, I'd rather beat my birdie record (only had 3 in one round so far) than get another hole in one (although I wouldn't be too upset if I was lucky enough to get another)

Only had a few hole in ones on a little par 3 course near me but they were only around 100-120 yards so dont really think they count, ive never seen a hole in one on a full course either.
There is a old guy at our club who has had a hole in one on all 3 of the par 3's on our course, even had 3 on one of them i think :/ lucky bugger

Also around Christmas time 2011, after an hour or so practising on the range, I strolled up to the 1st tee & hit a iffy drive into the light rough on the left of the fairway, there was 151 yards to the pin, I hit a very sweet 6 iron, the ball took off like a rocket & went straight in the hole for an eagle 2.
Not a hole in one, but it made me feel great.
