Hole full with water

A few years ago that did happen to one of my mates. His putt went directly over the centre of the hole, which was full of water.
Admittedly, it was going at some pace, but I suspect that had the hole not been full of water it would have dropped in.

We decided to name his ball "Jesus" :D

"I suspect that had the hole not been full of water it would have dropped in" = "If that had gone in, it would have been a goal." ;)

I'm reminded of a (non-golfing) story from Campbeltown where Davaar Island is joined to the mainland by a sand spit which is covered at high tide but which, with a careful eye on the tide tables, you can cross when the tide is out. On this day, someone was leaving it a bit late to come back from the island and the water was covering his feet as he splashed his way back. One of the locals noticed him and said to his mate, "Would you look at that, Hector. He's doing Jesus out of a job."
