Holding your emotions in check.

also what also helps me, is when im with my regular playing partner, is were both fulla jokes etc... so when one or the other hits a bad one we laugh at the other, i think that kicks the tension away for example.... on sunday we were playing and for the last 3 months for love nor money i cant hit my 3 wood properly, so bad i hit the top of the ball in some way it went backward with such furious spin it rolled back 5 yards when rolled forward to me stopping just short of the heels of my shoes, my partner was in such kinks of laughter he started chocking for not being able to breath leading me to have a giggle, i could go on with the stupid crap luck ive had, but after reading you would all advise me to stop playing golf lol

My round wasn't actually bad. The end result turned out pretty decent.

Some of the shots I hit towards the start of the course seemed to merit a much better score though. I think that's what made me the most angry.

I must admit I once threw my 3w into the trees and went back in to retrieve it. The fact that most of my clubs suck doesn't refrain me from thinking about it I suppose .

I think once there's a decentish temperature showing on the thermometer I'm gonna go for a round myself and see if I find focusing easier or if it's just me that needs to control my anger.

It's funny though. Once I'm off the course, I want to come back tomorrow and see if I can do it again without getting the red face.

You are a handicap golfer and have a h'cap of 20, nothing you can do will stop you hitting bad shots - nothing. Over the course of a round you will hit several bad shots, you will probably even play entire rounds without hitting a good shot, but they don't define your round, the way you react to them does. If you hit a bad shot, try re-adjusting your target for that hole, if you have to play for a 6 then so be it, after all playing a 6 and getting it is better than playing for a 5 and making 8.

Forget the last shot, it's gone, just make sure you don't compound the error.

I'd be more happy with the number of pars achieved...... oh and the overall score of 83!!

Its a funny old game and more frustrating when you know you are capable of doing it.....

I played our 9 hole the other week, went round twice, on the first time round on the par 5 4th i managed to clock up a 10 !! second time round i lipped out for birdie.... same day, same tees etc etc !!

Just smile and hit it again.... remember, it only goes where you tell it too !!!!!
