I have carried a Callaway Great Big Bertha 7 wood (20 degree) for a number of years now - for 200 yard shots, good fairway finder.
I have just bought a Benross Delta 28 degree hybrid with a regular shaft £99; Only played two rounds, but I find it very easy to hit, and goes about 190 yards as a result - might try the 24 degree hybrid and 19 degree fairway!
If you struggle with your long irons I would give this a try.

Anyone tried Benross irons ?

No but I've been very tempted by a set of HTX compressor irons for a while
