Governments anywhere, not just the UK, are just a bunch of educated idiots, creating jobs for the boys, taking backhanders left and centre and for the most part are contradictory clowns without an ounce of common sense between the lot of them.

The potential closure of our course is one thing, having to negotiate the construction site twice a day on my way to oxford will hurt just as much.

Having done plenty of work in manchester and Liverpool I think the existing links are pretty good. As someone else mentioned, getting to the North east is a different matter altogether.

When Built, the HS2 will run approx 800yds from my house.

Also Going Straight Through Aylesbury Park GC,

It wont make any difference to your trip to Brum as the HS2 station will be about 7 miles outside, so you have to catch another train to get to the centre, and doing such a big project that doesnt connect with Heathrow or Gatwick is bonkers

Total colossal waste of public money

Don't know where you got that idea from. The HS2 station is proposed for Lawley Street, currently on the edge of the city centre but when the Eastside redevelopment is complete it will be walking distance from the centre.
