High Drives

I am new to golf, playing off 26 and using a 11 deg Diablo driver. I drive about 200yds off pink tees but get very little run because my drives go so high. How can I get a lower more penetrating flight?

Firstly, why not play off the yellow tees or even the whites!

Where is the ball positioned in relation to your left foot?
What is your normal shape of shot? (when not dead straight?!)
Do you take divots with mid irons?

Conon, dont worry about hitting a lower ball for now, I hit a high ball and dont suffer distance at all bar the most severe headwind. What is the rest of your game like?

Chances are you are simply catching it too much "on the up" and increasing the loft.

I play like this (no irony at all ) but I don't really worry about it.....

Once you've taken about 15-20 shots off your h'cap...go for a custom fitted club.

You/we/I can get away with too much height, but not enough is not good i.m.o. As you get better, you'll find you hit it better and will stretch your distance by 10-20% without changing clubs.
