At the moment I am using a Titleist 909D2 10.5 degree with a Aldila Voodoo stiff flex. It is horrible to hit and every time it is either a humungus super fade or a slight slice. I went to the driving range today and tried lots of drivers including a ping g10, srixon zsomething :S and my favorite the King Cobra S9-1. I hit them all fairly well except from the Cobra, as it hung in the air for ages and went as straight as a ruler (a very long one).
My dilemma is should i trade in the titleist and use the cobra?

The 909 range are not as forgiving as they make out. You still need a pretty decent swing to make them work. I had a 909 D2 and ocasionally it went like a bullet but more often than not it went miles right.
The other drivers offer much more forgiveness so you'll be better off with them.

Id buy the one you hit best,if for nothing else you can't beat the feeling of confidence that you get when you know that you have the right club in your hands.

The simple answer would seem to be yes. You seem to be struggling to hit the current model and it is obviously going to have a continuing effect on your confidence the more you hit right. My advice would be to go back and try the two or so you really liked again and maybe just have a look at regular shafts in case it helps and then I'd be trading in for something a bit more forgiving and which I feel confident with

Hey pete93 I'd be interested in swapping my G10 for your D2 if a Ping takes your fancy? Might save you a few quid?

I don't agree that the 909D2 is especially difficult to hit. It is not fade-biased like the D3, and the Voodoo shaft is a softer version (than the real Aldila shaft) made for Titleist.

Still, if you can't hit it, it ain't much good.

That said, a club doesn't cause a humungous super fade and there is no guarantee that whatever swing problem causes it will not come back with another make.

A lesson might be cheaper than a new driver.

Contact stevek1969, there may be a swap on the cards for his R9!!!!!!

Ah to late mate the R9's gone(glad to see the back of that pile of crap :D).
Picked up my 909 D2 today a bit of haggling on the trade and i actually got money back so a cheeky wee 909 F2 on its way as well with the same shaft.
Have tried the regular shaft but its far to wippy for me so went for the stiff which IMO is a Firm which i have found to be good for me.
Anyway i've been hitting it staight ish with a slight draw sometimes but a bad swing for me is a push which i can live with, not a huge slice as in the original post.
IMO stick with it and give it a go.

909s need to be c/f to get the best out of them. Other drivers may be ok off the shelf, but not Titleist. Mate of mine (used to be off 4, currently up at 6) has been through 4 of them, and still won't get c/f.

Failing that, buy what you can hit.

Thing is, they are expensive, and c/f costs nothing. Why not?

Don't know what you're h/cap is, but Titlist drivers are not forgiving. Never have been.
