Help is at hand!

Evening all

We have signed up a vbulletin guru - who goes by the natty name of the TheFatControlleR - to the forum who helps a lot of IPC (our parent company) brands on their sites.

We probably should have had him on board before the switch but we didnt - hey ho better late than never!

From talking to TFC it transpires the new forum was released into the wild ahead of time so the GM community didn't suffer any serious downtime, but as a result it hadn't been prepared as it should have been and now we're catching up.

A big part of that is ensuring there's no unnecessary strain placed on the server and/or database by various functions so we'll be disabling a couple of the bells & whistles and thread preview which a few of you have noticed disappared today, is one of those.

We'll also be reintrouducing the preview your post page as we used to have in the old forum as standard sometime later this week. The end game is to make things run more smoothly for us all

TFC is very much here to help us all so if anyone has any 'how do i do this' type queries that please post them in the feedback section - TFC knows his onions and a speedy respone sharing his wisdom will follow!

I like the new forum but I get logged out far too quickly its very annoying. It might be my machine but in a few minutes I am having to log back in again.

It is your machine.

Try deleting your cookies and bookmark then re-bookmark it. Worked for me when the change happened.

How do you get rid of that dancing naked woman on the right hand side of my page - it was a nice novelty when the new forum started, but to be honest she's been getting on my nerves for a while now - i cant find a feature in Options to switch off ???

I think that is one of the improvements. Well I don't, but I do. If that makes sense.

Can we get auburn warrior re installed. He doesn't seem to feature, so I'm sure there must be a setting I am missing?

Maybe someone email him and tell him we now have TFC on board who will be able to help him get used to the new forum ... and assist in picking up the toys he threw out of his pram when the switch happened
