Hi Guys,

After reading many amusing threads in the GM mag I thought I would check out the forum action - just started posting this week and realised I had better introduce myself.

Home club is Grimsby - handicap currently 24. It really is a gem of a course as any who have played it will tell you.

Second go at playing now kids are older and don't need / want me around at the weekends except for free taxi rides and money ofc - this time round I am much more into it (read addicted) and determined to get that H/C down below my previous 20.

Not a very accomplished golfer yet but this year ........

If anyone is in the area and needs a game just shout

Ha just replied in another thread! We could do that all over again in late April guys? I want to play both those tracks in the same week!

Welcome along. The only place I've been to in Grimsby is the footie ground. First day of the season and 28 degrees when we left. Standing on the away terrace with the wind whipping in off the seas it felt -4 and we got stuffed. Can't hold that against you though so get stuck in and good luck on getting down to a new best

Well I have two teenager kids if that counts as old - makes me feel it anyway.

Lad is dabbling at golf but nothing too serious - we are gonna play this half term so should be fun

Gonna try for those days off and see if we can work it out. Mind you everyone at work is looking at those days late April as the Royal wedding and Easter means you get a long time off .

Will see how it works out.

I hope you enjoy golf "second time round" - it's a nightmare squeezing a hobby/sport in with work and family!

I keep trying it but for me sport is work as well so I'm accused of always working!

I can do either weekdays between Easter and the 30th or the weekend given enough notice.

Normanby has had a fair bit of work done over the weekend, levelled the tee boxes, re-turfed part of one fairway that was suffering on a good drive length, put some drainage around the 17th green which always seems wet and they are even having a go at the bunkers!!
