according to the news item posted "An HMRC official said the court action was to have a winding-up order dismissed."

go to advanced edit for the typo in the title

You sure you read this right man ? link says............

" The petition relating to Edinburgh-based Heart of Midlothian Plc will be heard on Thursday.
BBC Scotland understands that it is over a tax bill due to HMRC that may have already been paid.
An HMRC official said the court action was to have a winding-up order dismissed. "

It seems its to have the winding up order dismissed as the bill has been paid.. or am i reading it wrong?

You are reading it right. The winding up order was brought months ago when Hearts had failed to pay an outstanding bill to HMRC. Hearts paid some days after the winding up order was brought by HMRC and since then have paid all bills to HMRC on time. As a result HMRC are now getting the order dismissed.

BUT

Many of the Hearts players have still to be paid last months wages. Sports journalists up here are all over twitter just now saying that players have been told to find other clubs.

Hearts are currently not speaking to the media so any information from Journalists may be a bit of guesswork

As they havent been paid are their contracts void ? can they join any clubs as free agents right now or do they still have to wait til janurary .. sad story tho

Sorry, Can't agree its good news. As much as I hate Man U, Everton and others they are still a part of their clubs community and to see clubs go to the wall is a sad thing, no matter who they are.

If all the clubs you hate went to the wall, not as much fun then. Rivalry is one of the plusses of football, as long as it is in perspective.

I'm a season ticket holder at Easter Road with an unhealthy dislike of all things Jambo, but the way Romanov has run Hearts over the last 6 years or so is shocking.Scottish football is continually getting worse, with no hope or sign of improvement in the product on the pitch or finances off it.

I can't see Hearts existing in it's current form in 6 months (or less). They have no cash, no home game to get some in for a month ( and the games after that at home aren't exactly money-spinners) and a support that looks like it will turn on the players/manager/owner.A sorry state.

Pre-Romanov I would have had a degree of sympathy with this kind of plight, since he's arrived Jambo's (generally) have become unbearable and I'm undecided whether I'd care if they ceased to exist.Prior to the mad one I'd never want that to happen, as the inter-city rivalry was one I enjoyed.

Lower-league football beckons.

The SPL is weak enough without losing one of its better supported teams, only 4 teams this year have averaged over 10,000 per home match, hearts are third in that list at an average of 13,911

Hearts only have themselves to blame, living outwith their means for years, no sympathy at all.

A pretty one-dimensional viewpoint.I know supporters who watched them in the 70's when they were keek, were shell-shocked :-) in 86 when Our Lord Albert Kidd saved Hibbys everywhere from decades of unbearable gloating, who just support a team who were mis-managed by ego-maniacs from Mercer (spit) thru the pie-man to the the current Vladonomics.Just ordinary guys who support their team. They don't deserve the nonsense thrust upon them from the Submariner.

And that's from a Hibby who really really doesn't like them.

One dimensional to you but also the truth.

Football clubs don't really want the humble foot soldier as a fan anymore, they want corporate money. Football clubs have priced the majority of "true" fans out of the game. Hearts fans were happy enough to jump into bed with Romanov when he first came in, when it was all rosey and they were sitting top of the league for a while. Sadly it was never going to be sustained with their limited budget and fan base.

Only thing I like about Romanov is he's not afraid to call it as it is. He stands up to the old farm biased SFA.

It's not the truth, it's your own opinion...there is a difference.

As for Corporate money, we are both talking about the SPL here, not The EPL or La Liga?

And the traditional working class fan has been sacrificed at the alter of middle-class,Nick Hornby reading, sit down and be quiet types, but it hasn't really worked in Scotland, has it?Any ground I go to is still populated by the same type of rufians...a prime example was my visit last week to Parkhead, trust me on this,I saw no evidence of corporate prawn sandwich merchants sitting in either the away or the home end, just your standard mix of working lads and lassies with the normal quota of mutants in the home end...and even in the Walfrid Lounge where I've been for games, it's just normal blokes with a few more quid in the pocket.

the San Giro? I'm betting an above normal quota of mutants

As a fully paid up backslider of the Jambo variety I can only say, it's taken while to get here, but it's no surprise. Romanov staved off bankruptcy when he bought out the Pie Man in 2005. The seeds were sown when the Pie man had a club that lived well beyond their means. Nothing has changed. Romanov was never able to invest the sums of money reaquired to set the Club on the upward path. He used it as a sales window for his Kaunas 'talent' so he could sell on any of them that could kick a ball in a straight line.

Love him or loath him, poor old Wallace Mercer must be spinning in his grave when he sees what has happened to his Club.

It's a shame a club with such a rich history is in this state, but it's all their own fault.

When you say 'their' fault I think it depends on who you refer to as 'their', I certainly don't think the fans are ever culpable in these cases. When do the fans ever get a say in who gets to own the club? It's unfortunate given that the fans are the only enduring human element at a club.

I dont agree with people who suggest they are glad the club has or is going under. If the owner of the club has done this to the club then you must feel sorry for the fans and other staff at the club. It isnt there fault yet they are going to lose something very precious to them. As a whole scottish football need hearts to stay in business and remain competitive, if they are the only club capable of giving the old firm a decent game then this will generate more money for tv revenue etc. If they pull out companies may only want to show the old firm games which means less tv money all round and then this means they cant buy the players and keep the squad to a good level which in turn means the league gets weaker, if the league gets weaker then you lose out on extra european places which again is more money lost.
