Hope it looks better when it's finished. For now, it reminds me more of a dog-doo than a walnut whip

Well, I suppose the GLA building near London Bridge does look a bit like that, except it lacks the little "curl" on the top.

Interesting thanks, we normally come to Edingburgh 3/4 times a year our flat is only 10 minutes from the St James Centre lots of building work going on last time we were down.

Not sure about the swirl on top of the walnut whip. Looking forward to coming down again sometime Edingburgh really is a great city

I suppose the city was ripe for lots of new developments, there were quite a few run down old buildings sitting empty. place has really changed since i was at Uni there thats for sure.

I would imagine the swirl is some sort of viewing platform.
Only seems like a few years ago that I was watching them build the original St James Centre.

Ironic that the St James Centre didn't even last 50 years. It was certainly showing its age last time I was in. I wonder how long this new incarnation will last. I imaging the shops will be a slightly different mix than there was in the old St James.
