I’m not sure if anyone else has had this problem but I got a couple of emails direct from HDID last night to congratulate me on recently beating my handicap and to confirm that my handicap has been reduced from 10.4 to 10.3. This concerns me as i’ve been playing so badly recently that i’ve been nowhere near beating my handicap and that as i’m in category 2 i’d never have a 0.1 cut anyway.

Has anyone else had this same problem ? With IT security being such big news everywhere at the moment i wonder if HDID servers have been hacked ???

I've had the emails but they reflect what has actually happened.

Couple of years ago I was notified of a cut when I hasn't played but that was caused by someone at the club entering a score under my name by mistake. Club sorted it quickly.

I'd maybe speak to your club first, then take it up with HDID if they can't fix it.

I dont think i have had any problems with HDID notifications, sometimes there are a little late if I play in a qualifier at an away course but that's all.

Agreed, I'm getting emails from them but they are all correct (that or adverts!). It could be that someone from the handicap committee at your club has entered incorrect information.

Sorry for the false alarm folks. It seems that the clubs records and HDID records aren't reconciling . Not sure what's happened but it's a club problem.

You beat me to it - we used to have this from time to time when there were some reconciliation issues and resolving them created these apparently spurious emails!

Glad you have it sorted.
