Going back a while Taylormade were bringing out new equipment every three months but it's seems like that has stopped.

With the blame they got for big box retailer in the US going out of business the blasting we regularly gave them on here and other press (those who are free to say as they see) and the drop in profits.

The M1 seems to have and still seems to get rave reviews and had been on the shelves for what seems like a long time. I got mine in September or October and it had been out a bit before that. Any idea when it's due for replacement?

I think I respect them more already.

It will be interesting to see the profits, what with them being up for sale and all.

Thoughts?

Taking the latest sales figures for the OEM market in the USA I would not anticipate any great upturn in profitability.

I'm hoping for a new model soon,as I really fancy a M1 but not at that price.
TM really do seem to have nailed it with this driver going by the reviews.

With the amount of drivers they have released in the last X number of years, they were bound to get one right. As I heard on a golf film the other day " even a blind squirrel finds an acorn". Made me chuckle. Just a shame they have bogged off so many golfers over that period of time.

Tbf Tashy I think they've got quite a few right.
I really do like TM irons, but not been too keen on their drivers/fairways recently for some reason.
SLDR just looks so cheap and tacky to me.

But not less profitable for the much smaller range of equipment?

Overall sales down 26% on a year on year basis for May.

So no the outlook for the industry is not great at the moment.

They have had plenty drivers that they have got "right" - r11 , r11s , RBZ , SLDR to name a few drivers that did the business - I haven't found one driver to come near the SLDR for me - not every driver works - the R1 struggled so the SLDR came early

Also they have had the brunt of the critisim where as it seems to me that Callaway for example release just as much maybe even more products - every year there is a new "X" version plus a couple of Big Bertha versions , even Ping now seem to release every year , as do Nike. Titliest seem to stick to the two year cycle - even with irons it's new models all the time for most if not all manufacturers

But with a similar margin?

And the same costs.

Why do you think adidas are looking to extricate themselves from their golfing subsidiaries, or Titleist/Fila worried about the timing of their IPO.
