I am a Member of Vivary Golf course in Taunton Somerset and i was walking across the course today to get my brekkie[support the club and all that] and it was horrendous rain, every green was nearly under water and there was at least 12 people playing it!!Goto the club house and spoke to head greens man and i said cant believe course is open and he says " orders form course manager thru tone leisure course is not allowed to close any more!!! What a load of crock!!!!!!

so in the middle of this municipal madness Vivary Golf club is trying to run and survive and these idoits trying that hard to undo and rubbish anything that u r trying to help and improve the course!!

From all the Members of VGC to Tone leisure!!! Thxs 4 slowly but surely running our club into the ground just because they have not a clue how to run a businesss Cheers u faggots!!!!!! Not a happy bunny

To an extent, a course closes itself. If it is raining that hard, there aren't going to be that many out on the course, so not too much damage will be done.

Not a big fan of closing courses. It can lead to the green keepers closing at every available opportunity. Ours certainly do this.

Going back over your history of posts, you said that Vivary park was the worst course you have played, and i think somewhere you mentioned you would never become a member there. So why the concern now?Of course with tone leisure now declaring never to shut the course, its surely up to individuals to realise when the course is unplayable, also to be fair the course does drain reasonably well,so one minute its waterlogged the next its playable. Also with the club struggling financially every penny that goes over the bar is beneficial to the club,so keeping the course open is essential.

Shouldn't the greenkeeper and manager discuss these things very carefully???

Our manager is worse, our players don't rake bunkers. When the main greenkeeper asked the manager if he could be a little more forcfull about raking the bunkers he said:

"I can't force them to do that, they will think that I am being very strict!"

I would walk around the golfcourse with a shotgun loaded with rubber bullets and shoot these pretentious, idiotic ill mannered, selfish, nouveau riche, rude little pricks in the back!!!

But you can't as these barstewards are to effing precious to even posibly be harmed.

im not getting at the club im proud to support it but wot chance has it got if rules like that apply!! Also members have to wear dress code non members [pay and play] wot that takes there fancy!! Is not a way to promote new members and simple rules should apply for all apart from active members only!!!

when theres 12 peeps on course and it has been raining like it does no1 comes into the bar!!!! but still have to pay the 3 peeps working there?! And u cant say thats not the pb!!!

No sure what ur saying.....should the bar staff be sent home...loose money because it's raining?

oh, no1 = no-one, there was me thinking it was number 1. just got to work out pb now.

if only we had a common language we could communicate
