Has anyone played in the day this week?

I am a southern softie, so it's too cold.

Anyone determined to play, I'd say do it on Saturday. As imurg said, its meant to snow overnight Saturday. Think I'll go sledging instead.

Went to the Range at 5pm Wednesday and Thursday and will be going again tonight. Got a club competition tomorrow teeing off at 8.30am. Looks like snow Saturday night and Sunday so i am going to try and make the most of it tomorrow. Just got to remember it's the same for everyone else out there in the comp. CSS was +3 last time it was this cold.

I played this morning (8:40 tee of time @ Hampton Court) and the course was absolutely rock hard for the entire round. It was entertaining off the tee (370yd drive was my highlight) although using a wedge onto the green was a nightmare and spent a lot of time playing from off the back of the greens.

A good laugh but impossible to have a really sensible game.

Played Wed, Thu and today and it stayed solid and like concrete the whole round. Finished at 2.30 today and was lovely to be out in the sunshine but a lottery with the bounce so best just to laugh about it and move on. Being on the short stuff even more of a premium than usual as playing from concrete hard bare patches in the rough is nasty - worse still with a sold lump of icy mud behind the ball :fore:

The swans seemed to like it though - funny to see them teetering about on the frozen lakes. These 2 sensibly sit on the bank of the 1st and started to "dance" as we tried to find our balls through the green.

Played thursday, temp below zero, but NO frost in the ground, so great

Played today, was -6 when i set off in the car, frost everywhere, ground solid, but me & 2 pals played anyway, it beats being at work, and had a chance to catch up with a mate Ive not seen in a while, good banter, so all enjoyed
Quite laughable some of the bounces u get though.........

I played on Wednesday and it was a wee bit difficult to get the tee into the ground. Looks like it will have to be the sea-side again this weekend.

Porridge for breakfast and a wearing a wooly vest for me.

its the seaside for me Saturday morning anyway, still don't think i will be able to get a tee in the ground though.

-6 here today ;)

Im looking forward to tomorrow. Ive brought some rebel balls and with the frozen fairway im going for that 300+ yard drive. Its only the saturday morning swindle so not in a comp but I am meant to be in 1 sunday but cant see it going ahead.

We've got a comp tomorrow, don't expect anything other than frozen ground but I'll be there, especially as work prevented me playing last weekend.

Good thing about this frozen ground is i can now hit a ball as far as a 20 handicapper from down south:)

last time i was out hit an 8 iron 187 yards, shame the green was only 140 away:(

I've played three times this week. Each time it was below freezing when we started at 8.15 . Today it was -6.
Each day the sun has come out but not given much warmth and it has been superb. The ground is frozen so you just have to manufacture shots and think a lot. You get some bad bounces sometimes but who said golf was fair anyway. Get out and play. You never know -there may be 6 feet of snow in a couple of days and then you will have no choice.

Not played or practiced and had the lesson cancelled yesterday. Rescheduled for 2.15 tomorrow and so just in time for some decent snowfall to put the mockers on practicing or playing on sunday. Glad I pulled out of the comp tomorrow morning. Too cold, too hard and inevitably on temps and I couldn't see the point in doing that for 4 hours with no prospect of enjoying it

Played Thursday afternoon, had the course to myself - millionaires golf :) the ground stayed pretty firm all day.

Will be much worse tomorrow for the Medal, but I'll be there and enjoying it :)

Far too cold for outdoor golf here. Good job we have indoor facilities to use played pebble beach today and will head to the indoor putting green and swing simulators tomorrow. Can't see any point whatsoever playing on temp tee and greens hitting onto frozen fairways, not for me i'm afraid.

I managed to drive the green at our 300yd 14th yesterday. Unfortunately, we were on a winter green which was 40 yards back down the fairway. I also stuck an 8 iron over the back of our 2nd hole from 200yds. The thing hit the winter green, pinged 40yds up into the air and took off like a rocket. I felt superhuman for a few seconds..

Played three times this week in minus conditions. I love it, it is a challenge and allows you to play a different type of game. Managed a 35 pointer Wednesday and won a matchplay on the last hole today.
