...the Golfbuddy Voice? I am thinking about getting one but would like some opinions and reviews first. Feel free to discuss :)

Hehe, I have a strong opinion on this... I scream at the TV every time the add comes on.... Why the hell would you want it to tell you, why not just look at the screen... the risk of it going off when someone is making a shot is just too high!

That aside I am a range finder convert... How much are they out of interest.

The advert is very very irritating! And yes, if I was playing with someone with a talking GPS, I might want them to turn it down.
Esp if "that" cddie appears!

I have played with a couple of people that have these and have to say that it will not make a sound unless you press the button to do so, and you can turn the sound off. Although the sound is very quiet so really needs to be on your hat like it's advertised. I think it's a good piece of kit as it doesn't require much use to get the info needed.

I would definitely think about one if I was in the market for one.

May look into one of these myself. I was thinking of the garmin s1 but I'm not a big fan of wearing a watch but could clip this onto my bag. Not bothered on the voice aspect more the size and price.

"That aside I am a range finder convert... How much are they out of interest." They are £159.99 Alex1975. They only speak when you press the button, so they will not disrupt playing partners, but i'm not really looking at it for the speaking reason, im looking at it because it is convienient in size, less than £160, and it offers most of the information that more premium models offer. :)

I prefer a GPS that gives me the layout of the hole as well as the distances. Not a big fan of the voice but providing it didn't put me off a shot, anything that helps a player with his game is fine by me just not my taste

lol

id like one that you can discuss various options then decide to do exaclty what you normally do aganist the better judgement of the computer.

If you hit into the deep cack does it say "find a safe place to perform a u turn" until you get really peed off and turn the thing off?

maybe the US version says "in the hole " or " mashed potato after you've played your shot

Hehe, this made me laugh...

@op, yep it is a nice small looking unit. Does it give front, middle and back?
