Has anyone got an open golf course??

Has anyone on the forum got the prospect of golf?

I read that someone has a 9 hole comp in the snow but I mean real golf on grass to real cups not the fun competition that was mention on that post.

My place has been open for 1 day (hogmanay) on temps since 18th December which is virtually unheard of,I reckon I can count on 1 hand the days it has been shut in the last 20 years and there will be no play IMO for at least another 10 days if the forecast is correct!

Was supposed to be playing today but with 3 inches of lying snow that's been frozen and with the temperature not getting above freezing for another 4-5 days (allegedly!) there's a possibility next friday may be out as well.
Can't work either - you don't want to be taking learner drivers out in this. The main roads are fine but as soon as you get off them its like an ice-rink.

Course and clubhouse closed , situation to be reviewed Monday morning.
I,m not back at work yet either so i,m bored stiff , gagging for a round of golf.
The wifes suggestion of painting the hall stairs and landing is even starting to sound interesting

Not even here down south 6inches of snow and freezing,starting to go slightly mad and the outlook grim.Think im going to get like Jack Nicholson in the shining.

Do it now Andycap you know it makes sense - and when the weather improves you haven't got to worry, the DIY has been done.


Back to thread, course closed this week and sure the Winter league match on Sunday will be cancelled.
With the freezing temperatures forecast the much awaited thaw is a long way off.

We were open up until the 3rd of Jan had a bit of snow since but major frost so can't see any courses over here being open until the cold nap lifts

No chanc here, hasn't snowed since Monday but it's so cold that the snow isn't shifting. Club is closed because the car park / paths are like an ice rink. I've got an Explanar being delivered from a mate next week so at least I'll have something to play with

No chance here either. Many inches on course and roads bad to. Work is always quiet this time of year so bored outta my head.

WE have been shut in kent since monday on hold meant to have played 3 times this week on holiday.Looks bad for at least a week arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
I am going to plug the wii in and play tiger woods golf 10 at least its something arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Nope! Essex is usually warm and dry! My course is open but covered in snow. We played a 9 hole xmas charity event on snow before xmas and a frozen medal last weekend. Even most ranges are shut...
