not being a member of a golf club, the only way i can guage what my handicap is through sites like golfshot.

i have now added my 7 most recent rounds to the site and they calculate me as a 24.9.

the scores are as follows:
120
108
122
114
95
109
50 (9 holes)

does this make sense? i have only hit 25 over par once (the 95) and often hit a fair bit over. anyone care to shed some light???

Thanks as always

thanks - just had a look on wikipedia too, it seems the handicap is more a measure of what your potential is, as opposed to what your average score is. ta

Early days L65.

Stick with it. 25 over par wouldn't normally give you 25 on course, especially if you had a few 7s, 8s and 9s. Given the rest of your scores though, it seems OK.

I just looked on masterscoreboard.com and clicked on a few of our players off 24 or 25, and they have lots of medal scores between 100-115.

I expect you'll soon lose the 120s....
