I'm playing in a pairs match tomorrow.

My handicap is 9 and my playing partner is off 21, we're playing two ladies who are off 8 and 13.

In all the previous matches we've played against guys with higher handicaps than me and so we've done the usual 90% of the difference from me.

Will it be any different playing tomorrow? 90% difference from the lowest handicap which is one of the ladies?

I'll actually get a shot!!!

Essentially yes, but if there is a difference in the SSS of the tee's being played from then you will need to add shots to either yours or the ladies handicaps. For example, if the SSS from the tee' s you are playing from is 72 and the SSS for the ladies Tee's is 73 then the ladies handicaps will be adjusted to 9 & 14 respectively.

One of the things is that your club should have set is which SIs you are using if they are different between the ladies and the mens tees.

Both par and SSS are 71 for ladies red tees and men's whites 😁
Then you are back where you started, and only need to ensure you know, or agree, which SIs are going to be used.
The overwhelmingly approved process for this is to agree with whatever the ladies propose on this unless its clearly written down somwhere by the organisers and availabe to view! The CONGU recommendation is to use the ladies SIs as they are generally receiving more strokes and their capabilities are more closely allied to their indices.

If both SSS are 71 should you not toss a coin as to which SI you use if different.
That seems to be fair in these days of equality.
