Handicap Advisory visits

I suggest that all clubs should be doing their CDH Cleansing now that the Annual Review is out of the way.
A random spot check I have done shows large numbers of players stuck in a limbo of transfers between clubs. Apart from anything else, this can cause problems with away scores.
There is also the possibility/probability that the CDH count will soon be being used as the tool for calculating club subscriptions to EG.

CDH cleansing should really be done a couple of times a year, or, that is what our county advises.

EG and our county have stated many times that they would not use the DB for calculating subscriptions as there are, and will continue to be errors the system both human and system.

The new staggered collection process is causing such problems that there are increasing mutterings re automation. And there is a new man in finance.

Whilst it is understandable that many (most?) clubs arent currently in any hurry to show people as having left when they don't renew it's just another unfortunate element in the on going inaccuracy.

There needs to be some practical driver on the other side of the equation, and automation (presumably with the appropriate change in contractual wording ie a shift from members to people shown as home club members on the database, will help in the long term.

I'm not sure what you are saying.

That information is already in the DB. In particular it shows transferring players not yet released or released and not yet actioned.

What I'm saying is that clubs don't currently remove players who have left from their handicap databases with any great speed (and therefore the CDH) - this is separate (but related) from those specifically moving clubs, or simply changing home club.

Or do you think they all do it promptly when the renewal date passes?
