But what happens Ian if there is a couple of trebles in that score but a couple of eagles to get the points. Could that mean there would be a further 2 shots to consider so in essence another 2x.2 to come off

As we don't have a gross score, only stableford points, probably ok to assume a stableford comp so gross scores don't come into it.

The handicap calcs are based on stableford points so the net (?) trebles count as net doubles.
