Top man Bob. As I said last week with the wedges this smacks of look at me especially buying 5 sets. Collectors editions (buy a set just to look at??), cavities (two sets) and blades smack of self importance and you can only hit one set at a time. Can't see the point and still think there are better clubs out there

I wont be posting on this forum anymore, I simply can't be arsed. After reading several of your posts Homer I can say with honesty that you are completely full of [****]. Not just my opinion, lots and lots of PM's saying the same thing. I think there must must be a typo in your Avatar, there seems to be an extra "r" in Homer.

3 weeks and reading endless posts by people who honestly through ignorance (must be) know absolutely nothing about the industry. You go on and keep paying 600-800 for clubs that cost approximately £2 each to make just because the guy on the "Roger Mellie" has something that looks the same.
The fact he is paid on average a million + per year doesnt matter, if somebody paid me 1 million a year I would give you a blowjob infront of your grand parents!

Morons, plain and simple. Bored now...

Really,,,,,but i was so looking forward to reading the write up of your course record at Augusta using your new Samurai golf clubs ? Are you going there with Retif ?

I miss him already!

Insult and run, I'm sure he must have French blood in him. Maybe he's away for a game with Retief.

Nah he never surrendered maybe eats cheese though..........

Didn't France have a revolution a few years ago involving peasants?

I hope they don't rise up again and make him eat cake! It'd probably be forged cake though and more expensive than any other cake......

Yes but when it came he would have to finish the baking then talk about the time he had dinner with Delia Smith LOTS mate!!!

its a pity that this debate has got way out of hand. if he has played wentworth with these guys, then he may know what he is talking about.
i have played cricket since i was 2, and only village non league stuff, but i use the best gear i can afford, and i use an almost identical bat to tendulka, how do i know, the same person made various bats from the same wood in the same machine, but no 2 bats are identical, and i am on my second, and its not as good as the first, but still a very good bat.
just because it has what ever is written on the stickers, does not mean they are using that bat, or golf club etc.
back to the clubs in question, i do not think they were over priced, especially if they are not massed produced.
also think what some people pay for golf shoes etc, and like most things these days, a lot of stuff is mass produced in the cheap far east markets anyway.
i hope this debate can carry on as i would like to know how the clubs play etc
there is nothing wrong with banter but some things that have been said are over the top, from both sides.
lets stick to golf and the such like and not personal attacks
shagster :( :( :(

Absolute nonsense!

That nobber came out and called me a peasant out of nothing, I had not insulted him in the slightest. To come out with such a generalisation shows how much of an A-hole he is.

Better off without Hakusa this, Augusta that, Reteif was at mine for diner, I'm richer than you Harry Enfield crap. I smell a rat if I'm being entirely honest.

Hardly going to lose a wink of sleeep if he goes. I might be many things and probably objectionable to many on here but I (hope) I'd never come across as egocentric. Every post has to be about him. Look who I'm mates with, lived on Wentworth, can afford to buy mega clubs. He thinks he knows so much about the game at the pro level. Based on what apart from having a few professional friends?

I can't remember him joining in many posts that weren't all about him and offering any of his vast knowledge to us mere mortals struggling. Perhaps he doesn't know as much about the swing as he thought and would be shown up by Bob and other single figure sages.

I've no truck with how much cash he has, where he plays, who he plays with or what he uses. He's obviously earned his money and the right to do so. My problem is with his I know better than you attitude. I'll be sorry to see him go. For once the heat is off me :o  ;)

Cricket is different though. I've also played cricket and I've known many people who've played at a very high level. It's a known fact that the pros use bats made by specialist bat makers and then stick the labels of their sponsors on. This can't happen in golf - as far as I know. Due to the fact that it's metal and not wood the shape's vary.

I couldn't care less which clubs the pros use and I couldn't care less what club my opponent uses. We all play this game to be the best we can, using whatever we can. What I resent is someone coming on here trying to make me inferior just because I don't spend £200 on a wedge.

I work in an industry where most of the people have more money that you or I will see in 100 life times - most of them are tools! Money doesn't impress me - other, more important life skills, do.

Referring to people on here as lower class peasants - that's poor.

two well made points, and i know things can get heated on here. i was just interested in the clubs and what they were like etc.
some of his comments were in very bad taste tough, and there is no need for that. if he has worked hard for his money, good luck to him, and i can only wish, but the personal insults were out of order, especially against bob who seems to have forgot more than i will ever know, but i agree with him about labels are not all they seem.
lets keep up the lively debates though, without personalising them
shagster :(

I've had this sneaky feeling that the OP is actually a longer standing member of the forum with a different handle just doing a wind-up. If so, he got a lot of you going. :)

...if somebody paid me 1 million a year I would give you a blowjob infront of your grand parents!

Nope, not even for a billion would I do this...

I was going to say that it's your money, and if you want to buy super-expensive clubs then fair enough...but calling people working-class peasants is uncalled for. People will pay 600 - 800 quid for a set of clubs because they do the job. Unless you are at the peak of the game then it's not going to make much difference if they cost 500 or 5,000 quid anyway.
I have been up close and personal with several tour players clubs/bags and I can assure you they are the same mass-produced clubs that are available at Nevada Bobs. Sure they carry the odd prototype that gets refined before it is sold to the masses, but they don't have a whole bag of re-branded hand-crafted irons.

I also said I smell a rat. However it doesn't excuse his ignorance and petty name calling. It actually stinks of an alter-ego. Wind up, no, being a prize prat, YES!

That's the biggest insult on this thread.....

I would have thought the comment about crap Pings would have been worse?
But hey, what do I know, I only make wild guesses
You're the one who knows everything  ;)

I cant beleive that I missed all this fun last night

Im happy to admit that im working class scum, at least I dont have the worry of what to spend my millions on
