Gypsies occupting our car park demanding money to leave - SCUM. This happened a few years back when they went from course to course operating the same scam, I presume they travel the length of the country doing this. Why is that there is no law enforcement in this country; I'll bet there is no other coutry in the world where they get away with this.

Law enforcement will need to just get a court order to move them along - normally takes 48 hours

They had them at Dewsbury District just up the hill from where we live.

Best option - pay them, get them gone asap, and then install height barriers.

Absolutely don't pay them. Just storing up problems for another visit from them or another group once word gets out you're "payers".

Get ruddy good bailiff. We had them a few years ago. We had a member who was a bailiff and knew the ropes.

Had them out in 24 hours. They left a mess though!

I’m no expert but when does it become aggravated trespass, and can the Police be called for aggravated trespass?

Yes, that’s entirely different. But in many cases travellers will occupy the land peacefully to avoid police involvement. Sadly, they aren’t stupid.

EDIT: Generally speaking, aggravated trespass involves some form of intimidation, but there are other circumstances which may tip the balance.

I remember hearing on a phone in the suggestion that as all the vehicles used in such occupations have registration plates, then why can’t a lien be put on the vehicles (with possible seizure) for any and all damages caused. Seemed sensible to me.

I wonder if these people causing this inconvenience should prove to be neither gypsies or pikeys.

The word "pikey" does not even appear in my 1989 OED.

But using words that are in the 1989 Concise OED, it would seem that a bunch of nobs have had their toffee noses put out of joint somewhat.

Whoever they are, they shouldn’t be there, can’t they temporarily alter the site of the driving range, so the vehicles they are using are in range

Or get a local farmer with a muck spreader to do a couple of close circuits
🙄

Or do as the CO from the RE barracks and training grounds did when they pitched up on a part of his land.
He went to see them at 4pm, told them to move off. They said they wouldnt and he would have to go through the process, they knew their rights.
He then explained they were on MOD land, and he was in charge.
Told them to be gone by 9am the following morning otherwise he would move them.
They laughed.
9am the follwoing morning he returned with earths movers and JCB diggers.
2 of the caravans didnt make it.
They have never returned. :)

I have read "gypsies", "pikeys" and "scum".

I have read about threats of hurling animal excrement at human beings.
I have read about using earth moving machinery and JCBs. (given that MoD property is a special case)

But these are people at the lower end of society and as such, they are the last group of people who can be called offensive names with impunity and threatened with violence.

A blummin nuisance they may be, and often are, but they have the same basic rights as all of us.
To be treated with decency, humanity and legal process whenever this is easily achievable.

The Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022 makes trespass a criminal offence if the trespasser intends to reside on the land in or with a vehicle, and if they disrupt the land owner's ability to make lawful use of the land.
So travellers occupying a golf club car park clearly falls under this (assuming they plan on sleeping in their caravans), and the police can arrest them.

Maybe if they stuck to the points in the last paragraph they might get more sympathy 🤬

When they treat others with any decent or humanity then others will treat them accordingly

What you say is very likely, but if they do not act with decency, humanity and legal process, this does not immediately give us the right to disallow them from receiving our standard of decency, humanity and legal process.
