Shame that you got sold a pup and hope you get some form of recompense or at least some advice from the police TM/adidas and gumtree. Sadly your case and others like it are the very reason I'd never buy of e-bay or similar. Not only do I want to hit the club I'm trying first but I want to get it somewhere reputable and have a degree of comeback if things go wrong.

I don't think it's reasonable to include ebay with any of the others, and definitely not gumtree.

Most sellers would argue, with some justification, that there's too much comeback available to buyers. Yes things can go wrong, and yes things won't always get resolved, but it's more on a par with mail order than gumtree (or arguably better)
