Is it wrong to be thinking on the shots I left out there? Could have been 4 shots better, so it gives me hope for the season.

Top notch!! well done matey. Surprised you can't be cut with preferred lies. Could understand it if it was on temporary/winter greens. Through the winter we have a rule of preferred lies (on fairway) and so long we are on the regulation greens the handicaps still get cut as per normal

Surprised you can't be cut with preferred lies.

As OP said, they have preferred lies through the green. It can only be a qualifier if the standard local rule is in force i.e. preferred lies on close-mown areas only.

Any particular reason do you think? Did you feel like it might be "one of those days" when you teed off?
Any nerves as you got towards the end and realised you had a sub par score in your sights?

Don't see any reason why prefered lies should prevent a nice cut. Even if not a qualifier a general play cut might be possible.

Felt good teeing off the first but never thought its my day til the end, didn't realise what score was, knew it was close to par, so was just trying to keep going. Was 1 under through 6 and had a wee oh playing well today moment but then it passed, was calm and enjoying the chat with the boys. Got jittery on 17 trying to steer one down and made a double, so just loosened up on the last and ripped my drive, hit 3 wood to just off the left side of the green for an eagle chance, but made a good safe birdie the my mate told me I'd hit a half century, which was an amazing feeling, cheers again. Brendy, we played off the tees u played when we played together with Ian, full greens, course is def getting upto scratch.
