grips

I have had golf pride multicompound before. Haven't changed the standard grips on any of my new clubs but have been quite impressed by the UST grips used on MD clubs although the ones on the wedges aren't wearing to well at the base of the grip (a few splits due to top divider of bag). Considering the 4/3 UST grip when I need to regrip.

Have a Lamkin crossline on my driver. Hate it. Never feel confident I have correct grip position due to lack of visual markers but it does bive good grip.

I have a Vardon grip on my putter. I really like it's feel. Nice and tacky even when wet.

Do any of you have any further anecdotal thoughts on grips? Its an area I haven't really paid much attention to over the yeas but now feel I should explore. I've only got smallish hands and on top of that standard grips. What do you do re: size, feel, taping and the like? I'm not really sure? Is it trial and error or can you get an idea in a store?

I tried the winn lite softs fitted to a set of Ping G15s and they felt very good. I felt as if I didn't have to grip the club as hard which helped as this is always something I'm guilty of
