Grips or Clubs

Looked at these in the past - anyone know if the durability is the same as the New Decade? If they last less than half the time then there's no saving. If they are as good I may get some.

I've only ever heard good things about them
;)

I recently regripped my woods with these. They are performing very well.
As said earlier, pity about the idiot on the end.

Hitting a dead straight shot is a very hard thing to do, and even the straightest of hitters won't hit a bullet straight one often. We all have a tendency to hit one shape of shot or another and unless it is absolutely necessary to fight it then you are best off just working with that shape.

If you are like the majority of handicap golfers then it will be a fade of some degree. On the tee, peg it up on the far right of the blocks and have your aiming point at driving distance on the far left hand side of the fairway. You then have the full width of the fairway (30 yds??) to fade it back into. Hit that dead straight one and you end up left side of the fairway, hit a real bad slice and you should still be playable in the right hand rough. :D

Why make it harder by aiming down the middle and only having half of the fairway (15 yds??) to fade it into??

**Obviously flip this around if your tendency is to hit a hook :D

Given the choice between new clubs or new grips I'd go with grips... as there must be something wrong with them for you to even suggest it. I also think that it's possible to get to single figures using almost any club on the market, if not all.

Ordinary Golfpride Tour Velvet grips are cool at £5 per club.

How about trying a new glove every few rounds too?

Yes, for sure and buy a wet weather glove or two. I have red new decade on the lot (other than my W/S clubs, which have grips I like too). No grip is going to be perfect in the wet.

I'd sure like to be able to re-grip my clubs. Maybe someone who does this would like to post a thread.

I have a shed. I have a stanley knife.
I have vices!!!!
I'm sure Gamola could be a one-stop shop.

Good video on regripping Golf Pride

This is so easy, childsplay
Items you will need:
1. stanley knife, preferably with hooked blade normal one will do for steel shafts
2. white spirit
3. double sided grip tape usually bought from where you got the grips
4. grips
5.towel

1. cut off the old grip from bottom to top (carefully do not cut yourself) and peel of the grip, cut off the old tape and give the shaft a wipe down with a little white spirit then dry off.
2.offer the grip up to the shaft and mark just short of where the grip comes to on the shaft.
3. leaving some spare tape longer than required at the top of the shaft spiral the tape down the shaft to your mark then cut it off and remove the backing tape.Fold the excess at the but end over the top of the shaft to cover the hole in the end.
4.With your finger over the hole at the end of the grip pour in a small amount of white spirit put your finger over the other end and swish the spirit around inside the grip for a second or two then pour the excess over the grip tape to wet it
5. offer the grip up to the club,it should easily slide over the end of the club then push it down all the way to ensure it fits snuggly, align the grip to ensure it is sitting correctly aligned then wipe it dry and leave to one side while you get on with the others. Leave to sit overnight then they are ready to use.
If you need anymore info there are several video's on u-tube

It really is easy to do give it a go.

Don't forget grip shape and size.

I like reminder/ribbed grips which allow me to grip it the same way every time.

Also grips which are thinner may help hand action and release.

Thanks for all the input gents...
Iv had my Di7's about 2 years now but im sure they could do with a re grip....Those grips that Ethan talks about sound pretty practical if they help you grip the club in the same place all the time....
My Dad re gripped his Mizuno MX23's about 3 months ago with golf pride tour velvets that he bought on Ebay for 40 euros delivered with kit the whole lot which i thought was fairly reasonable...

The grips are good (I use them) but just be careful that you'll need them on every club you use as once you have them it's very difficult to go back to round grips.....

Iv been on the Golf Pride website and cant seem to find those reminder grips anywhere.......Do they go under a certain category or name.....
Also the grip selector says going by my glove size that i need either standar to midsize grips or midsize......
Slightly confussssssed now... :) :)

Iaing and drawboy....thanks....

The guy in the video makes it look SO easy!

I should get into doing this myself. :) :)

Excellent video and shows how easy it is.
The only thing I do differently is this
I pour white spirit into the grip as normal, swirl it round then pour it back into the container.
I then take the club and put the grip end with the tape applied into the container of white spirit and shake until the tape is wet. There's no wastage this way, then apply the grip as normal

i was thinking of getting a new set of clubs aswell, but on looking on it i went to get new grips, the clubs now feel like new ,so i happy with the irons again now,

went with the golf pride as i was going to spend some money on the irons so i spent a bit more on the grips, still cheaper in the end
