Is it normal to have different grips for different clubs? If I was to follow my instinct I would go for:

interlock for driver and 3-wood
overlap for 3-9 iron
baseball for wedges

My pro says I should pick one and stick to it so I chose overlap but still my best drives are interlocks and I "feel" the short game much more going baseball.

No it isn't normal.

But with the right amount of practice and dedication you can make it work!! :D

I'd have thought the baseball grip would have been better suited to the driver and longer clubs though.

The game is about consistancy so I'd agree with your pro.

I think ideally you should have just one but at the end of the day if what you do works then why change.
By having one grip you will learn to repeat the grip every time you play a shot. Chopping and changing means you're going to have to think about the grip a lot more and you know what happens when we start thinking on the Golf Course....

No pro does this.

No-one I have ever played with does this.

Chances are, you are in the wrong.

Pick one and stick with it like your Pro says.

I'd say that your pro and those responding above are thinking about consistency in getting your hands onto the club. If you have a different grip for each club type then you are going to set up slightly differently for each shot. Having one grip type eliminates this variability from your game.....

But, if you have found, through trial and error, that using the different grip types for different shots allows you to make better and more consistent shots with those clubs it's difficult to argue that you are doing it wrong.

Give it a try with one grip type for a while and if it doesn't work out go back to your current methods!

Thanks to all for the replies.

I'll stick to the overlap for all clubs. It might feel a bit weird in the beginning but I'm sure it will pay off in the long term.

Does anyone have extra layers on the driver? I never had and couldn't even get the chance to try one but for some reason I feel it would be better for me.
