Have no irons at the moment, waiting for the 52's to arrive.

I went to the range with Driver, 3 wood and the 47 and 56 Snake Eyes. Only got 50 balls as per and warmed up with a few pitches, half shots, 3/4's and full. Striking well, nice and straight hit the landing zone most times.

Got onto the woods and they were ok apart from the odd pull but nothing major.

Went back to the wedges and started to concentrate on something the pro at Mizuno said. 'Everything is really good, except you could be lent over a little more'

I tried this, and I tried bring my feet closer together. Concentrating loosely on a full turn, elbow in and reaching through after the strike, by the end of the basket I was hitting my pw to about 130 carry THATS A BLOODY 8 IRON FOR ME!!!

I moved onto the SW and that went 110, thats is where my PW would normally carry too.

Thing is aswell, the lofts on the snake eyes are 2* weaker than my X20's where. It doesn't make sense. Did I step into a parralel universe where in another life I was a good golfer?

It just goes to show that with a good coil and the right fundamentals in place, what can be acheived. I would very much doubt I could replicate this very often but I will certainly be trying.

Cant wait to get the 52's now and check in with the pro for a winter programme.

Better than my Wednesday range session, where I managed to shank pretty much every club in the bag. If it had a hozel, I could find it.

Hope your new found form remains in touch when your new sticks arrive.

Good luck with the 52 irons mate, I played with them this morning and they dominated me. They look so good but would ruin my life and my golf game.

Are you keeping the snake eye wedges now?

I doubt it mate. Once I get the Mizzy wedges with the correct shafts in and correct loft, I will do one of two things.

1)keep the Snake Eyes in the cupboard for a rainy day
2)Sell them to anyone who wants them (but at a cheeky little profit) :D

Glad it went well. I'm using this at the moment - http://www.pricebustergolf.co.uk/shopscr1909.html

which promotes a one piece swing and stops the arms from becoming to disjointed. It has made me swing much smoother and has given me a tighter and shorter swing. When I take it off I am finding I am hitting a good 5 yards further with less effort.

Went to the range today and hit a bucket (100 balls). I started off with wedges wearing the strap and then moved onto 9 and 7 irons with it. I was hitting draws with a low penertrating flight and once I took it off was banging 7 irons regularly into the 150 marker. My temp was good and it carried on throughout the bag. Even my driver which has been misbehaving lately was going high and long with controlled draw.

I got another small bucket (60 balls) and then worked on my short game. In particular I tried to hit the net (approximately 50-60 yards) with a 56 (full swing) 52 (3/4 swing and PW (9 o'clock swing). I then hit some short chips towards a net some 20 yards in front and finally tried to focus on a landing area by trying to pitch balls onto an old sunken mat some 10 foot in front of the bay. All in all a pretty pleasing session

How you use it Homer? The link didnt work on the price buster site. Looks like you just wear it like a belt around your arms?

Its basically a loop that goes around both arms somewhere just above the elbows and which basically makes everything move together. It has stopped me overswinging which was causing me to reverse pivot and to move my head laterally in the swing which was being compensated by lateral leg movement. It has got me swinging in a far more compact manner.

Have a look here, here I am posting a tip on golf, the sound is crap, the kids had annoyed me and the dog was whining, on top of all this it was freezing cold and windy.

Anyway, its a useful tip and does help people with eager head movement keen to see where the ball has gone before hitting, also helps a little with rhythm and gives extra confidence in ball striking. Its about 3 yrs old and I didnt think much of it then but it may have a use. let me know guys. :D

If you guys think its any good let me know as I might have a go at some more in the future. It is also one of my practice routines before I start serious stuff as it loosens you up well.Oh ignore the expression at the end, I did smile after it lol.

I have to admit, I wouldn't have the patience to setup and collect all the balls, but I do hit some of my first shots at the range with out looking where they go and it does work, great tip herb.

Good Vid too, presenting comes as a natural to you :D

Nice video Herb. I might try that only I'll have to use plastic training balls as the only park near me is pretty busy.

I'm terrible for looking up to early to follow my ball. Ironically if I kept my head down it would more likely go straight and I wouldn't need to watch it so early!

My problem is not moving my head too early to see where the ball is but one of swinging too far which leads to my head rising from its starting position (and a reverse pivot). The only way to get back to the bottom of the ball when I do that is to drop my knees as I shift the weight through which means my head then drops down below the original starting point. This leads to a) poor weight transfer and b) inconsistent striking unless my timing is really hot.

With my new swing aid the swing isn't able to go too far back as the arm movement is constricted and so everything remains in place and is more compact and powerful

Totally wasted a fiver today on the range. Nothing went where it should, I had no distance and not much more control.

Wednesday I played in the sun with no wind and shot 76 - Go figure.......

Stick to the course Imurg, :D I do more on the course than off it and I too have those practice days where some mysterious nonsense grips me and my clubs by the short and curlies heh heh. ;)

I went back to the rabge again last night, although when I got there the fog was so thick I could only see upto the 100 yard marker. I just concentrted soley on striking. I could see the ball leaving straight but couldn't see it land. I could of swore though that 95% of shots I would of been happy with.

I prefere to practice on the course but no its dark I cant get out as often and have to settle for the range!
