Blimey, this thread went downhill pretty fast.
I'd like to make it perfectly clear that I have absolutely no qualms against women playing golf - the more the merrier, and would not like to be associated with the derogatory comments made on the thread.
The original post was a simple one...
Is it right that men should be allowed to use their GPS devices in monthly medals and club competitions.. but not women?
I find this decision particularly ludicrous and can't fathom a reason for it. If you can shed some light on it that would be appreciated.
Does your club allow you to use your GPS in competitions?
...and I can't figure which part of that was the difficult piece to answer.
Although the OP is clear, the respose for such a post is predictable and in the main very humourous, which always leads to mild conflict between the sexes and those who rush to the defence of those they feel need the support.
I love it when people demonstarte that they ready to welcome women as equals by making them un-equal in their own minds)

TBH I can't even find verification of this decision.
What's the betting that if I asked HID it'd be at the bottom of my sock draw along with all the other stuff I can never find, ( even tho' I've looked there half a dozen times already !!)
PLEASE NOTE: Under EWGA guidance and R & A ruling, we are not permitting the use of Sky Caddies/DMD'S/GPS's in any of the SCLGA run competitions with immediate effect. This includes Inter-Club Divisional Matches. This ruling will be reviewed at the end of 2009 in accordance with EWGA procedures on the matter. EWGA do not allow the use of DMD's in any EWGA medals.

It's written on this page.. http://www.sclga.com/ and references both English Womens Golf Association and the R&A although I haven't looked for the complete ruling on either of those sites.
I'm assuming it's a decision taken BY women FOR women![]()
