Right,

Taking the wee man to see Everton tomorrow. Any advice on parking etc, what and where to avoid etc etc.

We try and take in a Premiership game a year and this year it's Goodison Park.

I know nothing about Liverpool, don't know where I'm heading for, what junction to come off at or anything! All I know is I'm coming in from the Glasgow direction!

😂😂😂

All around the ground is residents parking so try and stay away from there.

When we're at home,
Anfield Sports & Community Centre use there car park as match parking for about £5 iirc, im not too sure if they do it when Everton are at home though. Even if they dont i'd park there as its handy to get away.

its about 10min walk away to Woodison.

Head M6 then M62 and stay on the M62 til the end, get in the right hand lane and its all signposted from there.

Beware of the speed camera at the end of m62 too.

Walton Hall sports centre, L4 9XP, is where I have parked in the past. Safe, easy to get to and back on the motorway. You pass a corner shop on the way for your sweets, a chippy on the way back. You pay, they open it for football traffic, but it is worth it imo.

Google it, it will come up.

Enjoy it, Goodison is a throw back stadium but the atmosphere can be great because of it.

Park by Everton valley (formerly Notre Damme girls school) - not sure on the entrance but google map/satellite "St.Domingo car park", may be £5 or 10 to park there.

Personally, if coming for the first time, and to avoid 20-30 minutes stuck in traffic, I'd put in Skerries road, as only 2 minutes away, and you also get to drive past Anfield, so he can see 2 grounds in one go.

The blues dont tend to park by our ground, so getting in and out will be quicker, traffic wise and you dont have to go down Queens drive, which is full of traffic.

If your using satnav, I'd come down the M62 till the end as Stu says, but instead of right hand lanes, go straight on (under the flyover) heading for city centre.

If you can plan your route via places go with:-

Holt road, Liverpool.

Then

Skerries road, Liverpool

Then after driving past Anfield on your right, carry on down for about 500 yards and that car park is on your left as you go down the hill.

Thats what I'd do, a bit of faff, but I'm a local and park by there for our home games.

Heading for Lymm after the game, easy enough to get out from there?

Didn't realise that Anfield is so close so yes I'll head there to.

Craw, ignore Peter he's sending you all round the world😀

There'll be traffic but it usually flows pretty well, you wont be stuck for too long. You'll need to get back on the M62 to get to lymm.

If you have any spare time before the match you might find this interesting, upstairs in the church in the corner between the Main Stand and Gwladys Street.

Coming from the north I would go M6 ,M58, then A570 Rainford bypass to A580 East Lancashire rd.
This will take you to the Walton Hall car park which is on the A580 .
It’s a lot shorter this way and you avoid the M62.
Enjoy your trip.

Hey borrocks, I go weekly, not monthly.

Its about an extra mile or so, but lots quicker.

Yep, as long as you go back on the M62 it will take you towards Lymm (via the M6, southbound) its only a few junctions down the M6 - dont try and shortcut via Warrington, its always gridlocked. M62 then m6 south to Lymm.

Yes, not as close as the Dundees, but the two grounds are less than 1/2 mile apart.

The Liverpool stadium tour/museum would be open, if you arrived well early.(y)

Wherever you park, be careful its residents parking on most streets by Anfield and Goodison for a good 1/2 mile in all directions.

I parked here for the Palace game the other week:

Dead easy to get to the ground, walk straight through the cemetery and you're at the ground and once we got back to the car we were really close to the East Lancs, was brilliant.

Enjoy, love getting down to Goodison for games.

That’s just around the corner from Walton Hall Park sports centre. WHP will be cheaper and is on the A580 (east lancs).

When I come up to see the reds I use one of two car parks on utting avenue, they're well sign posted and from memory £6-£7.

Pretty good day thanks.

Enjoyed it, good family atmosphere, no hint of trouble or agro.

Sat Nav took me in past Aintree and I parked in some side street where I paid an absolute charmer of a local "female" with beautiful teeth a fiver to watch my car. You should have seen her face when she got a Scottish £5 note. 😂😂😂

"What do I do with this?"

You spend it hen.

To be fair she had some good banter.

I remember when I couldn't get in any of the car parks near Anfield one time and managed to find a spot on the street nearby..... I too was approached by a young un who offered to watch my car for £5, I said no thanks and his reply was "you do realise you're in Anfield la" ..... I didn't pay and nothing happened to me car but he did make me smile.
