Good deal or not?

I need to raise some cash for some runing repairs chez Homer and so reluctantly was persuaded by HID to flog the R9's. I had to go to my mother first thing this morning so decided totake them in the car and rop into Golfbidder and see if the face to face approach worked. In the end after being quoted £245 to start with (4-PW face 9, shaft/grips 9.5) I got them up to £300. Bearing in mind I bought these brand new (actually had them 2 weeks before the official release date) and paid £500 I thought I had a half decent result.

I assume I could probably have got more if I had put the clubs up for sale on here or e-bay but for a instant payment deal I was pretty chuffed. What do you think?

I would say you did well at 300 homer, second hand clubs just arnt fetching great money these days unless you trading but the dealers are still making money.

I think £300 is OK. Given that they are selling them for £449....I think the original bid was poor, maybe taking all the hassle out of it persuaded them to meet you nearer the price. If they get £149 profit from them, it's hardly a bad deal for them is it.

Although they were going for £500 you have to take into account what they're going for now. Somewhere between 450 and 500 from a quick look so not a bad deal. You would have got more on Ebay - but only if there was a bidding war going on. And you'd have to pay fees which would knock you back by 40 or so quid. Money in the hand seems ok to me.

I think it was a pretty good deal. I paid the RRP as the new when they first came out but inevitably they are already starting to come down in price. It was interesting though as they had only quoted £225 on their online quote system (unseen obviously) and so they immediately gave me £20 above that (I hadn't shown them a copy of the quote). I think if you were thinking of selling and could get to New Malden relatively easiy it is worth flogging in person. I sold my TM Tour Burners a few months back and got about £200 for them which again was over and above what they had quoted initially

You have said that you are happy with the deal, so why ask for other's opinions? If peeps said you were robbed, would you change your mind and go back and demand satisfaction ??

It was more for reassurance that I hadn't been totally ripped off on a set of clubs that weren't even a year old. Of course I wouldn't have gone back but I didn't want to sell them in the first place and since coming home there has been a nagging voice saying I should have held out for a little bit more
