Hi there people, I'm am a keen golfer whose goes frequently with mates when the weather permits, this is just a few questions for market research or as I call it 'putting the feelers out' I would very much appreciate some answers from your own experiences thanks.

Do you have mud, grass or dirt in the car from your clubs/bag/trolley after playing a round in winter or summer?

where do you put your clubs when driving to/from the course? Ie boot, back seat etc?

Would you prefer not to take your clubs in your car and other people's clubs?

If you use a car which also belongs to a partner, do they get annoyed with any mess or damage inside the car from the clubs/bag/trolley?

Like I said it just putting the feelers out about a project that sprung into my brain, so any responses would be great!!

happy golfing mart!

My clubs are in the boot of the car 99% of the time. Its my mobile locker. There is usually grass, mud and sand in my boot along with two pairs of golf shoes, a selection of umbrellas and a bag of practice balls.

Golf bag is in the boot when not being carried round the course alond with 2 pairs of shoes, umpteen spare clubs which get substituted in as and when required, a spare pencil bag, a bag of practice balls, a ball scoop, and anything else that might have been ejected from my golf bag in the 4 years I've had the car!

* I challenge anyone that doesn't have any dirt from the equipment after a round.

*In the boot

*No preference at all

*Nope, because I clean the partners car anyway

ditto - wouldn't use it for anything else!

as for the 'partner get's annoyed' question in relation to a golfer - that's been shown to have a solution :)

if you want to keep things clean it's easy enough to use a dust sheet or eq. let alone those fancy boot liners.

Snap (only 1 pair of shoes tho )

Mrs has her own car so that not an issue ..

Back seats are removed from my car currently giving a nice big boot space. It was cleaned the other day and it felt like half the golf course was removed. That said theres still 2 pairs of golf shoes, some tour sticks, a putting alignment mirror, a holdal with change of clothes, hanging pair of trousers and polo shirt, about 15 half drunk bottles of water and my pencil bag in there. Clubs and trolley are removed overnight but will go back in in the morning before heading off to a pro-am :)

golf clubs lie on the back seat, with the trolley in the boot. if i'm driving then the rear seats go down to accomodate two sets, The boot isn't big enough for the clubs so once home the clubs go to bed

Always have a blanket on the back seat so no mess, and the trolley is in a transit bag, once again this reduces any mess

This is the first pre-requisite for owning a car for me.

1. Is the boot big enough for my golf kit?
2. Can the learners drive it easily?

Does that mean that the 1% of the time they are not in the boot, you are out using them?

I dont care about dirt in the car, luckily I have a commercial freelander now so along with the dogs the trolley tends to stay there although clubs will come in and out as necessary :D

I have a plastic box designed for underbed storage in the boot of my car to put my trolley in, keeps the grass and mud out of the boot. Clubs go in the boot too.

At the moment the seats are down with an old table cloth in there with my clubs trolley shoes and two bags and then my work kit and tools will be added in the next day or so... Im in the market for some sort of bootliner that is light and flexible that retains space. Ive got a RRS which is fine but it does tend to be a magnet for "stuff" . I tend to take the kit out if it gets wet otherwise its in there most of the time.

HID has just got a new car so mud not allowed withing 10 metres of the boot or inside. Usually I put my Go Kart on the transport bag and put it in the boot and put the clubs on the back seat. We're a one car family so HID drops me off and picks me up so clubs only in the car if I'm off to the range or the club

My daughter was playing in the SW Ladies Championships.
She was about 18 and just got her first car.
We asked her to 'report in' each night just to let us know she was Ok.
She rings in the second night and says 'thank god I listened to you dad'.
Four of her six county team mates had their car boots jemmied and clubs stolen.
When I told her to take her clubs into the Hotel each night I did not think for one moment she would.

Another cautionary tale is about the lady member who slung her irons into the boot of her car after a practice session. One of the shafts lodged between the + and- trolley battery terminals resulting in a fire and write off.
