Golfer of the Year

GMac for me. Seemingly nerveless at winning his first major and closing out his match to win the Ryder Cup. Astonishing performances.

Closely run by Lee Westwood for becoming world number 1.

I think if Kaymer had won his singles match in the RC it would have been tricky to see past him. As he didn't the honours should go to GMac. Tie for 2nd between Kaymer and Westwood. Can't think of anyone else who's set the world alight on a regular basis this year....

Yes but what will he win that's what I want to know. A slightly too tight pair of trousers as a prompt that he's perhaps celebrated this amazing year a bit hard? :D

Well that's me off his Xmas card list ;)

Huge Westwood fan but I bow to GMac on this occasion. Terrific performance to hold his nerve and win the major and then to stand up and win the Ryder Cup as well. Great season but a huge congratulations to the top 3 who've all performed brilliantly

Voted for GMac, but would like an honerable mention for Miguel Angel Jimenez. 3 wins in big Euro Tour events, beats the big hitting Bubba Watson in his singles match in the Ryder cup and generally looks to be an all round nice guy :)

Maybe Dude of the Year then....? :D

Wracked my brain on this one and despite good showings from MAJ , Westwood and Kaymer I couldnt bring myself to go for anyone other the McDowell tbh

A US Open at Pebble is phenomenal and a truly gutsy showing at the RC swings it for me. Well done to all of them

Noone gets past Jammie as far as I can see it.

He closed out his match to seal victory for the great GM team at Walton Heath.

Since then he's won pretty much everything he's entered.

Dunno why he wasn't one of Monty's wildcards tbh.

Apart from that I voted for Westwood, for his Ryder cup performance and getting to be the first Brit to be world no.1 for an age and a half.

But that was over two years. For this year, I'm happy to have have been out argued in favour of GMac.

I like the fact he has had enough faith in his swing to take it all the way through and win a major, and hasn't been tempeted to try to construct a perfect swing, like so many of the modern era of golfer.

I would vote for GMac

US Open victory at Pebble Beach and his performance in the Ryder Cup singles are both awesome. He conducts himself very well, gives good interviews and looks to be a great influence for Rory McIlroy.

I would like to see Westwood step up his finishing in the big events to consolidate his World no.1 status and be next years golfer of the year but i fully expect Tiger Woods to remind us of just how good he is.

:D nice one Clive , of course modesty and humility (2 of my many qualities btw) prevented me voting for myself. I just put the cherry on top of your cake and icing ;)

Still unbeaten as a pair though , a record that may stand for many years :p
