Club match away on Saturday, 9am tee off ☹️

Email today from the captain, the home team are putting the first tee time back to 10.30. 😁
That's a bit unfair! First group out just as the match is coming to its finale. (80 mins playing time, plus half time plus "stoppage time" means match won't finish until about quarter to, or ten to the hour)

Going to the club for a pre match breakfast at 8am then watch the game and captains drive-in at 11.30am and a Shotgun start scramble.perfect.

Going to watch the rugby - easy decision. Numbers will be low in our roll up - will be like millionaires golf for anyone who wants to play.

Was hoping to play Sunday, but forecast poor for whole weekend.

Expecting to have minimal numbers for the roll up. Can see there being a real race to the first at the final whistle though as we don't have booked times and first come first served.

Winter League pushed back last Sunday for the Wales game....

....tee will be packed on Saturday morning with the "I ain't watching England" conscientious objectors making a point! :-)

Funny how it goes from "rugby, rugby, rugby" - to SILENCE the second after the final whistle on Sunday. I'm going to England for the weekend to watch the game in a pub adorned with England Flags! (if we lose I may need to stay there!)

It actually said 10.30 ish and also said depending on the score, I don’t think they’re being unfair; unfair was keeping the first tee at 8.30.

My normal tee time is after the rugby has finished so both, if the weather will let us play.

The club has organised a rugby breakfast for those that want be at the club from the start.

We have organised an additional medal on the following Saturday so nobody misss out on playing in one. All of our winter medals are optional.

are your summer ones compulsory then?

On Saturday Medals (one a month) If you book in to play (other than on the day via the pro shop or office) you are automatically entered in to the medal - so in essence yes. Those that do not want to play in the medal can play on the 9 hole course.

Neither as Saturday 9am is parkrun time. But having a lesson later that day. I think the weather favours a later time anyway.

Was looking forward to playing after the win but having seen the forecast now I think I'll stay in the sanctuary of the bar. Even going out early and avoiding the game doesn't hold much stock as the winds are gusting at 40+ mph and heavy showers. Fortunately Sunday looking better so I can get my fix

Any Englishperson who plays golf over watching a Rugby World Cup Final is unpatriotic in my opinion. This comes around a minimum of every 4 years and from what I’ve seen of most of you on a course, you can have a bad round every day :ROFLMAO:
This doesn't really track for me unless you would also watch England compete at badminton, chess, volleyball, archery, etc etc. Rugby holds no more value to me than any of those. The reason I probably won't watch it is not unpatriotic, it's simply because I don't really know what's going on. To my mind I'd be watching a bunch of blokes run with an egg until they get thrown on the floor, then give the egg to another bloke who runs until he gets thrown on the floor, and then they repeat this process indefinitely. Every now and then one of them will kick the egg for some reason.

Goodness gracious me, why would I want to watch Rugby.

That said, I would rather play sport than watch/talk about a sport I watched.

Easy for me on many levels, play Golf.
